初めて聞いた時こりゃ名曲だと思いました。やっぱりこの人の作る音は美しくて聞く人を魅了する力があると思います。特にギターソロ!必聴です!
ラルクでもそうですが、私が好きな曲のほとんどは彼が創っている…ということに最近気がつきました。
これを機にソロの方の活動も増やして欲しいですね。

　ラルクのなかで、
　hydeとyukihiroはソロでの活動に深みを持たせていく一方、
　tetsuはTETSU69ではなく、元DEAD ENDのMorrieらとCreature Creatureとして活動、
　そしてkenは、tetsuとは逆にS.O.A.P.ではなくソロとして曲を出すことになった。
　この『Speed』は、そのファーストシングル。

　タイトル曲である「Speed」は、
　ラルクでも感じられるような曲調でありながら、情緒性が深く、言葉はより私的なものを感じさせる。
　カバーである「The Shadow Of Your Smile」はギターのみで、
　メロディも独特である為に好みの分かれるところだろう。
　個人的には、もう一つのカバー曲である「Empty Rooms」がとても良かった。
　寂しげな曲調と、うったえかけてくるようなKenの声が合っていて、いつまでも聴いていたくなる。

　ただ、セカンドシングルやアルバムの方は、
　そのときどきの心情で活動のスタイルを変える人と思われるから、
　いつになるのか定かではない――。

また、ラルクやハイド、テツ69、アシッドアンドロイドとかとは、また違ういいところがあっていいのではないでしょうか。さすがにギターはさすがといえるほどきれいですし、思いっきりのいいボーカル、僕は好きです。ハイドやテツに負けてないと思います。
