レビュアーの皆様のお奨めを参考に、初めて「ボストン」を聴いた、２０代になりたてのロックファンです。
そして、ご推薦通り、余りの素晴らしさに、ついついレビュー投稿してしまいました。
「シンセもコンピュータも使っていない」という言葉は、こういう作品だからこそ、重みがあるんですね。
どなたかも書いておられましたが、人のココロを打つものって、安直には出来ないんですね。
リマスターの優劣は比較できないので判りませんが、「古さ」なんてこれっぽっちも感じない事は確かです。
仲間同士で集まって、大音量で楽しんでいます！

リマスターの効果としては、まず中低域よりも高音がキラりと強調されています。

Drのハイハットの鮮明な分離感、そして肝心のギターはピッキングアタックの細かい音まで濁り無く表現されています。
旧盤では今一つだったソロ時のバッキングもクッキリ解ります。


アナログ時代の最高作品をデジタル時代な今の技術でマスタリングすることにシュルツは何を思い実践したのか?
そっちのほうが興味深いです。

「コンピュータ使用せず」「シンセサイザー使用せず」

これは特にアメリカのバンドとか、ハリウッド映画のセリフとかで、
たまに使われてます。
意味としては、「丁寧にやろうよ」「手作りでやろうよ」・・・強いては、
「魂込めて、一生懸命やろうゼ！」という意志を表す時の、合言葉みたいです。

この名ゼリフ、このアルバムのジャケットに刻印された事が、その起源です。

タイトル・チューンの「ドント・ルック・バック」を聴いて、
「普通」で居られるロック・ファンなど、果たして居るのでしょうか？。
このリマスター盤を聴いて、これが実に３０年近くも前に録音されたモノと知り、
驚かない音楽ファンが、果たして居るのでしょうか？。
コンピュータもシンセも一切使用しない、アナログ録音、アナログ・ミックスの音源です、と言われ、
「それマジかよ？」と思わないオーディオ・ファンは、それはモグリではないのでしょうか・・・。

「産業ロック」などと分類され、過小評価されている部分もあるようですが、
このアルバムとデビュー作「幻想飛行」は、やはり「ロック史上の超名盤」です。

是非、「紙ジャケット」の国内盤をご購入下さい。
「紙ジャケ」ＣＤは、日本だけの、特別な技術です。
デビュー作の思わぬ大ヒットを受け、その当時、
見開きのダブル・ジャケットにしたこのアルバム・・・
「ボストン号」のスケールを記した「中袋」まで、キッチリ再現されてます。

トム・ショルツ自身によるリマスターは、驚愕の高音質です。
「幻想飛行」（同時にリマスター化）は、ＳＡＣＤ盤より高音質でした。

iPodは横に置いて、是非、ＣＤそのもので、聴いて下さい。
