私は黒百合姉妹の中でこのアルバムが一番好きです。不純物が何一つない、触れただけで壊れてしまいそうな、肉体を持った人間には決して届かないような、ガラス細工のような美の世界。間の取り方、緊張感、空間の広がりは見事としか言いようがありません。個人的には、暗く悲しいメロディーの曲に特に魅力を感じます。悲しみに声を上げて泣くのではなく、いかにも「静かに悲しみにうち沈む」という印象を受け、そんな世界にどっぷりひたれます。バッハのカバー曲などもあります。
冷たく張り詰めた空気感と寂しく陰鬱なメロディーが印象的な「Ma Clamour」は月の出た夜の砂漠が思い浮かんできます。後半にかけての緊張感の高まりとその後に広がる静寂は鳥肌モノです。暗くて沈んだメロディーなのになぜだか妙に心地良い「Four of Pentacles」はピアノと声の美しすぎて危うい透明感。「Nu Alrest」は、暗い廃墟の聖堂の奥から切れ切れの歌声が響いてくるような、そんな雰囲気がしてすごいです。
