第6シーズンに初登場後、なぜか全く出番の無かった重機キャラクターたちの活躍する復活番外編。本DVD収録のエピソードは、本編4分30秒・フィルム製作の旧フォーマットで製作されています。撮影は第6シーズンか第7シーズンの頃に終わっていたと思われますが、ギラン社がヒット社に買収されたごたごたで、いままでお蔵入りしていたのでしょう。やっと5年ぶりに日の目を見た事になります。ただし音楽は第8シーズンからの新しいものを使用し、オープニング等も新作です。

収録エピソードは
重機キャラクターたちが工事現場で恐竜を発掘する
「A Visit From Thomas」

再びジャックたちが町で仕事をする
「Jack Owns Up」

さらにミキサー車など新しい重機キャラクターも追加
「On Site With Thomas」

ハロウィンの夜、パーシーが重機キャラたちに脅かされる

或る風の強い日にケリーが活躍

以上の６話を収録、音声はマイケル・ブランドンの米語のみ、
字幕はCCのみ、アスペクト比は４：３、
トーマス・パーシー以外のきかんしゃは出番なし。
歌２曲を含む本編収録時間３５分。
画質はHD-Videoから製作された最近のものを見慣れているとちょっと厳しいが、
初期日本語版DVDの事を思えば大変高画質といっていい。

DVDのケースにはデヴィット・ミットンが監督とクレジットされているが、勿論ファンならすぐわかる大間違いで、本編字幕には正しくスティーブ・アスクィスとクレジットされている。
