西暦2015年。日本をはじめ世界中に“レミング病”と呼ばれる致死ウィルスが蔓延していた。感染者は自殺という方法で死に至るこの病。唯一の抑制方法が“日本のあるミュージシャンが奏でる音”を聴くことだという。希望もない絶望感に満ちた世界で、彼らの“音”は一筋の光となるのか…。

2.0 out of 5 stars 映画としての完成度は「？」がつく, 2007/8/22
ストーリーが分かっていないと、はじめの３０分は何を表現しているのか、理解するのは困難な構成です。確かに、草原の中で一人レミング病に立ち向かう、主人公は映画的にはすばらしいと思います。残念なのは、その際に主人公の個人的な過去の情勢のカットバックが入ったりして、本来抽象的に描かれるべき存在がとたんに垢まみれになったように感じることです。サウンドについても同様で、ノイズならノイズ、その他の音楽のパラフレーズならそのようにメリハリをつけた方が、より「音楽による死」が表現できたと思います。最後の終わり方も個人的には不要な後付のように感じます。全体的には構成を見直して１時間少しくらいにすると、良いのかなとと感じました。
私はおすすめしません。

出演者の一人である中原昌也はノイズ系の音楽を探求している音楽家でもあり、監督とも親交があるようで今回の出演（そういう点からすると、もしかしたら製作の段階から関わっていたのかもしれません）となったのでしょう（彼は小説家でもありその暴力的で言葉詰めな小説は特異な雰囲気を放ち興味深い）。
本作品は「死」というものを音で表したらどうなるか？と言う事を映像化しました、そんな作品ではないでしょうか。
私たちは全くの未知である「死」を考える時、その畏怖を払拭するためなのか、急に居た堪れなくなって大声をあげてしまったり、またはその衝動に駆られることを誰でも経験があるのではないでしょうか。
その衝動こそがこの映画のテーマであるように思えました。

ただ、自分の死は怖いけど、他人の死に対しては鈍感であるように、この映画もカタルシスが得られない分、どうも退屈な部分を拭えません。
でも「死」とはそんな退屈な生活の中にでも確実に潜んでいるものなのです。

　確かに消化不良というか少なくとも「最高！」という感じではない。別に必ずしも背景の詳細な説明が必要だとは思わないが、それを必要としないほどの力強さがあるとは思われなかった。それに正直、中原昌也の演技が微妙だったと思う。すごく重要な人物だっただけに残念。
　それでも延々とノイズがまき散らされるライヴのシーンはすごく良かったし、テーマも良かったと思うから、個人的には満足。
　私はあの映画の日本は本当に死んでいるように感じられたし、そういう死んだ場所で自殺病が流行るというのが滑稽で良かったと思う。３００万人も死んだというのに悲劇性がまるでないのはそのせいだろうか。
