グレープ時代の1973〜76に歌われた「精霊流し」「無縁坂」「フレディもしくは三教街-ロシア租界にて」「交響楽」「追伸」「朝刊」などの15曲が1枚目に収められています。
さだまさしとして独立した後の1976〜78に発売された「雨やどり」「吸殻の風景」「案山子」「檸檬」「つゆのあとさき」「飛梅」「フェリー埠頭」「秋桜」「主人公」などの15曲が2枚目に収録されています。
シンガー・ソング・ライターとして持てる個性を輝かせた20代半ばの時代を飾る名曲の缶詰のようでした。

さだまさしの持ち味は、短篇小説のような味わいを持つ詩と伸びやかな高音をいかすメロディと温かい人柄がでているハーモニーの三位一体となった曲の完成度にあります。デビュー以来３０年を経過してもなお第一線で活躍しており、他のアーティストでは聴くことのできない個性の輝きを、このような懐かしい曲と再会することで再確認しました。描かれた心情は、時代を超えて強いメッセージとなって伝わってきます。

デビュー以来音楽プロデューサーとしてさだを支え続け、励ましてきた川又明博氏が書いた全曲のライナーノーツがこのＣＤの特典とでも言えるでしょう。知られざるエピソードが満載で、さだまさしの人となりがとても温かく伝わってきます。このＣＤには収められていませんが、「パンプキン・パイとシナモンティー」に出てくる「安眠（あみん）」のマスターのモデルが川又氏です。
そのような長い交友関係を考えますと、この詳しい解説が収められているＣＤは、以前からオリジナルのアルバムを持っている方にとっても再び購入されても損はないと思います。

さだまさしさん。
1973年にグレープとしてデビュー。
精霊流しがヒットし、人気シンガーソングライターとして認知されてから、
すでに33年が経過。
最初の5年分の作品をまとめただけでも、
時代を超えて聴くひとの心に染み入る作品が多数。
「追伸」や「交響楽」「19才」などすばらしいメロディーですし、
当時のさださんのボーカルは、高音部の透明度が見事でした。

ソロになってからも「線香花火」「指定券」「童話作家」「つゆのあとさき」
「飛梅」「案山子」等、力作ぞろいです。

アコースティックソングの入門編として、おすすめします。
ちなみにわたくし現在30代前半です。
