【アーティストについて】
4月16日京都府生まれ。95年「Blue Jam」でデビュー。その歌唱力と作詞/作曲センスに注目が集まり、その後のアルバム「Heaven's Kitchen」「evil and flowers」では、トーレ・ヨハンソンのプロデュース参加が話題に。 98年に渡米、99年末にLAでレコーディングされたアルバム「Let go」はミッチェル・フルームとの共同プロデュース。2001年は「Take Me In」「Thinking Of You」「眠れない夜」と立て続けに3枚のシングルをリリース。10月には5枚目のフル・アルバム「Just a Girl」を発表。 2002年にはフューチャリング、リミックス、DVDと全4タイトルを同時期発売し、2003年、ロンドンレコーディングを敢行、トーレ・ヨハンソンと久々のコラボによるシングル、「Tonight, the Night」を1月に発表、全国FM局OAチャート1位を獲得。続いて2月に6thのアルバム「Present」をリリース。8月、自身のレーベルPINXSTARから赤坂BLITZワンマンでの映像と音源を収録した LIVE CD+DVD「Pink in Red」をリリース。 2004年1月21日に発表した、トーレとのコラボレート第2弾シングル 「Private Laughter」はJ-waveで4週連続1位に輝き、続く4月7日発売のシングル「Last Kiss」はジャンルを超えた大曲となった。そして5月12日に発売となった6年振りとなるトーレ・ヨハンソン、フル・プロデュースの7thアルバム「Even So」。互いに新たなる可能性を模索し、制作された作品群は今まで以上のしなやかさ、力強さを含有し、突き抜けたPOPSの開放感を存分に味わえる内容となっている。シンガーソングライターとしてのプライドを持ち、何処にも属さないオリジナリティを確立させたサウンドは、ロングセラー作品となった。 2005年にはデビュー10周年を迎え、初期から続く海外での活動を積極的な海外LIVEやiTunesでの楽曲の配信等で更に活発化させ、6月22日には自身の音楽的なルーツである楽曲を中心に、本人と交流あるアーティスト達とフリーにコラボレートを行い、作り上げた初のフルカバーアルバム「REMINISCENCE」をリリース、そして8月にスウェーデンの新星プロデューサーチーム[Burning Chicken]を迎えたシングル「So Wonderful」を、デビュー10周年の2005年9月21日に、Tore Johansson 、Burning Chicken、Hod Davidの3人(組)のプロデューサーが参加した、8枚目のオリジナルアルバム「Golden Tears」を発表した。 2006年、『下妻物語』の中島哲也監督待望の最新作『嫌われ松子の一生』に初の映画出演、また、彼女が劇中にてトルコ嬢に扮して歌う、映画のテーマソング「LOVE IS BUBBLE」を5月10日にリリースする。今年も今まで以上に精力的、多角的に活動予定。
