このアルバム発売前夜の広島でのコンサートで、
人前では初めて歌うという「玄海月夜」「柿の木坂の家」
「丘を越えて」を披露してくれたきよしくん
「いままで僕の歌はキーが高いって言われることもあって…
こんどのアルバムはキーを低めにしたので、女性の方も男性の方も
一緒に歌って頂けたら嬉しいです」
「今回は女性シリーズはお休みで…ちょっとお説教っぽい感じ
がするかもしれませんが、人の生き方や、心みたいなものを
歌ったオリジナル作品が入っています」
と話してくれました。

「一剣」のカップリング「きよしの森の石松」は４年前に
作られていたということでちょっとカラーが違いますが、
他のオリジナルは、しっかりと大地に立ち、凛とした視線を感じる
歌ばかりが収録されていて、まぶしいくらいの男ぶりです。
「玄海月夜」は情景が浮かんでくるし、「君去りて今は」は
心情が切々と伝わってきます。
名曲のカバーもあえて難曲を選んだのでは？と思うほど多種多様。
「お富さん」は春日八郎さんを良く聴いているというだけあって
秀逸「人生の並木道」もきよしくんなりの味付けができていて
聞きほれました。

「演歌名曲コレクション」もこれで６作目。
「ことばが温かくて…昭和の歌って本当にいいですよね！」と
弾むように語るきよしくんだからこそ、昭和の名曲が時を越え
生き生きと輝いてよみがえるのでしょう。
努力、努力、全力投球で走り抜けたデビューからの７年間。
大きな拍手と共に、心からの「ありがとう」を送ります。

忙しいときに食事をする際には、よく立ち食いそば屋に行きます。そこでうどんを食べているとBGMに演歌が流れていて、様々な風貌の方々が代金を出してはつまようじを交換に取って去っていくのですが、そんな喧騒の中で流れる彼の歌は、記名性があって爽やかなのにその場の雰囲気に合った土着性を兼ね備えていました。まるでアメリカの田舎の酒場でイーグルスやCCRの曲が流れている錯覚にとらわれたような、日本の風土に調和したポップスが表現されています。

シングルカットされた「一剣」も渋い世界観と和製クリストファー・クロスのような爽やかさが光る良作ですが、「お富さん」以外の戦前の歌謡曲も、懐かしく、そして今でも日本のそこかしこにありそうな街と民家の風景に昭和の彩りを与える名カヴァーばかりです。アイドル演歌歌手としての評価が先に立ちますが、実はこの人、世代と歴史を越えて日本の歌謡曲のアーシーな部分を伝えるハイフォンとしての実力も相当なものなのではないでしょうか。中途半端な「和風」が流行るJポップの世界に、純国産実力派トラッド音楽としての演歌の潮流を吹き荒れさせるような、さらなる活躍を願ってやみません。

先日「旅の香り」を視聴していると、氷川さんが瀬戸内海に面した尾道に旅に行かれました。
現地でお世話になった御家族の娘さんが結婚すると知られ、
娘さんのために「瀬戸の花嫁」を歌われました。
プロの歌手の方に大変失礼ながら、「上手いなあ」と思いました。
娘さんのお母さんは布巾で涙を拭っていました。
歌のチカラって凄い、氷川さんって凄いと改めて思いました。
そんな氷川さんが「旅の香り」の中で申し訳なさそうに本CDの宣伝をされていました。
そんな氷川さんが大好きです。
いつまでも純なココロを持った氷川さんでいて下さい。
