新人でありながら、特有の稚拙さ故の“暴走”や“初期衝動”などと言った言葉とは無縁の、珠玉のヴィンテージライクなサウンドがここには存在します。

壮大なスケールを朗々と歌い上げるアンドリューの圧倒的な歌唱力や、ドラムのテンポチェンジと共に「ブイ〜ン！」と切り込んで来るプリミティブでブーストし切ったＳＧとリッケン！聴いているだけで気分が高揚して、何だか自分が偉く思えて来るのは何故だろう？

よく彼らのサウンドを“Led Zeppelin Meets Black Sabbath”と言う風に表現されているのを見かけますが、僕個人の見解としては、鍵盤(Bassが兼任)を多用している点や適度なガレージ感、ファンタジックな雰囲気、大胆かつ壮大な曲展開と言った観点からAtomic RoosterやUriah Heep的(60'〜70'っぽいと言うことですね)とも思えるのですが....まぁ、どう聴こえるかは個人の自由ですので。

Pearl JamやSonic Youth、Flaming Lipsのツアーサポートを受け、チャートアクションも好調の様で、ビルボード、アルバムチャート初登場22位！と今後が楽しみですね。それと、30代以上のオールドファンの方、70'ロックとは言えど、あくびの出そうな長〜いギターソロなんて物は入って居りませんので、ご注意を。

近頃米英から新人にいいのが出てきてますが、これは豪州からの刺客。一聴してサバスっぽいなが第一印象。特に3が。かっこいいですよ。またそれだけでなくジェスロタルみたいにフルートが入る9もよい。そんなクラシック・ロックにガレージ的なラフさで仕上げた快作。メタル野郎より一般ロック好きにアピールできる。一緒に買ったのがANSWERだったのでそちらがあまりにすごかったので星四つですが、お薦めできます

オーストラリア産パワー・ロック・トリオのデビュー作。

'70年代にタイム・スリップしたかのようなレイド・バックしたサウンドに驚かされる。トリオ編成ということで、1を聴いた時、シンプルでラフなガレージ風のハード・ロックかと思いきや、それだけではなく、随所にサイケ風味等も効かせており、引き出しは豊富…これがデビュー作とは思えないね。

一聴して印象的なのはキャッチーかつ荒々しい4かな。ただ、繰り返し聴くほど、新しい発見があるので、飽きない。
