30周年BAND WAGON完全盤に続き鈴木茂自らの完全リマスタリング第2弾!

日本のロックからシティ・ポップスへ
「はっぴいえんど」解散後、鈴木茂が発表した「BAND WAGON」は日本のロックに新たな軌跡を残し、今なお若いミュージシャンを中心にリスペクトされ続けています。
そしてユーミンに代表される都会的なサウンドを手がけていたのが「ティンパンアレー」です。
鈴木茂はこの頃、ロックのカテゴリーから更に進んだ「シティーポップス」を中心としたアルバムを発表します。
その代表作が「LAGOON」
J-WAVEが開局したころ、頻繁に流れていたアルバムです。
今回は鈴木茂も認める自らの代表作「LAGOON」、そして角松敏生らもカバーしている名曲「レイニーステーション」などを加え
ドライブ・ミュージックの決定版ともいえる選曲。

【アーティストについて】
1970年、「はっぴいえんど」結成。解散後、細野晴臣 らとキャラメル・ママを結成し、ティン・パン・アレー へと発展させる。1975年にはハックルバックを結成し、初めてのソロアルバムBAND WAGON を発表。その後も次々とソロアルバムをリリースする他、数々のスタジオ&ライブセッションを続ける。2000年には細野晴臣 、林立夫 とティンパン を結成。ソロアルバム制作他、様々なアーティストと精力的にLIVE活動を行う。

76年のアルバム「LAGOON」の30周年記念盤。Disc1が「LAGOON」で、Disc2はその後の70年代のソロやティン・パン・アレーからのベスト盤的な内容である。
その意味では「BAND WAGON」30周年盤のようなドキュメンタリー性はないものの、Disc2の選曲がたいへん素晴らしく、心地よいコンピレーションとなっている。中でも「ソバカスのある少女」は南佳孝氏と共演のオリジナル版で、とぼけたアレンジと終盤のハモリが何とも味わい深い。
「LAGOON」共々音質も向上しており、聴く機会が増えそうな、なかなかの好企画である。

元『はっぴいえんど』なんて言い方もいまさら意味がない、日本が誇るべきギタリスト、鈴木茂のソフト＆メロウなトロピカル・ソロアルバム『Lagoon』 (1976年発表)の本人によるリマスタリング盤に、『Lagoon』前後からそれ以降の、彼の代表曲をコンパイルしたベスト『SUMMER BREEZE』のカップリング2枚組。これで、歴史的にはギタリストというより、コンポーザーとしての才能が露わになっていく時代の、鈴木茂の音世界を手軽にフォローできます。センス・オブ・ワンダー。大人の贅沢なリゾート・ミュージック。いい意味でFMが似合う音楽やね。これも鈴木茂のあるべき世界。『BAND WAGON』が全てじゃないさ。が...しかし、ホント鈴木さんのリマスター盤は2枚目がダメですね。『BAND WAGON』の2枚目特典DVDの時にも言ったけど、愛がないよスタッフに。今回も本人選曲とはいえ、ベストじゃなくてなんか企画はなかったのかいな。その時期のライブとかさぁ、セッションとかさぁ...デモは鈴木さんがイヤがるのかもしれないけど、なんか、なんかあるでしょうに。
