佐野元春がEPICレーベル在籍時に発表した全てのシングルチューン40作品を完全収録した、まさに「完全版」佐野元春シングル・コレクション。「シングル」をコンセプトに製作されるセレクションアルバムは『Moto Singles 1980-1989』(1990年)以来となる。昨年12月、限定盤として発売された'80年代アルバム紙ジャケ復刻に続き、これはEPIC YEARSにおけるシングルの完全復刻と位置づけられるアルバムである。Additional recorded versionとして「ガラスのジェネレーション2006」も収録している。

佐野元春のEPIC時代のシングルコレクション。
80年代のシングルコレクションは既に発表されて一部リミックス等されていましたが、今回は全シングル（スポークンワーズ等のタイトルは除く）のリードトラックで構成。
初CD化となる「ダウンタウンボーイ」のオリジナルミックスと「ガラスのジェネレーション」のニューヴァージョンが大きな目玉。
新たに4曲が短縮ヴァージョンになりましたが、基本的にオリジナルのシングルそのままのヴァージョンが収められているのが嬉しいです。

佐野元春のコンピレーションも数多くなってきたので、初めての1枚として有効なもの、マニアライクなもの等と、わかりやすく今後すっきりと纏められる事が望まれます。

付属のブックレットの一曲ごとのライナーノーツが読み応えありです。
また、音がかなりクリアーになっていてびっくりしました。
でも最近の曲である君の魂大事な魂や月夜を往けなどは印象ががらりと変わった感じでしたね。好みの問題だとは思いますけど。
しかし、総じて好印象です。
早速車でこのＣＤ、ヘビーローテーションです。

やはりこの企画では本来のＥＤＩＴ（およびＭＩＸ）で発表すべきでしょう。
発表当時とは聴こえる「音」に関する環境は変わっています。それはわかっています。
でも我々佐野さんのファンが聞きたい「曲」は変わっていなんですよ。
アップグレードされた音は認めます。
しかし、シングル集にもかかわらず、今までに存在したことのないＥＤＩＴ　ＶＥＲＳＩＯＮってのは、とうてい認められないでしょ。
そのような音源が収録されたＳＩＮＧＬＥってのは無いのだからね。
今更ながらのお願いです。
「我々の望むものは何か」を理解してください。
