　アジアンファンタジーと呼ぶにふさわしい絵巻物のような作品。まず正子公也のデザインが素晴らしい。「花鎧」の登場シーンでは、その華麗さに思わず息をのむ。それぞれキャラクターをよく表した派手目な衣装も奏功している。壮大かつ荒唐無稽な城のデザインや、宮廷の内部など時空を超えた正にアニメか漫画の世界。物語も非常にわかりやすく、しかし説明的な場面は一切排除するといった手法も、チェン・カイコーらしく西洋のファンタジーとは一線を画すつくり。それぞれの運命を背負った名前を持つ魅力的な登場人物全てが悲劇的な結末を迎えるものの、「愛は運命を変えられる」という単純明快なテーマで後味は悪くない。俳優陣の良さに加えて、さまざまな想像力をかき立てられる映画。
　ただ、ＣＧにリアリティをもとめたり、起承転結重視の方には最後までピンとこないかもしれません。

ストーリーや各キャラクター設定は面白いです。
終焉に近付くに連れ、展開に引き込まれて行きました。

ですが、映像が、、、


ひとつひとつのシーンのカットが短い。余韻に浸る暇もなくブチブチとすぐ画面が切られる。細切れにした場面をツギハギにしてくっつけたような印象。
CGも使い過ぎで、冷めた目で見てしまい世界にいまいち入り込めない。
あと序盤の真田氏のアクションがちょっと鈍重な感じ、、、


HEROやLOVERSがよく引き合いに出されますが、個人的には比較にならないのではないかと。

壮大なスケールで描かれた時代劇ファンタジーで俳優陣と衣装の豪華さには目を見張る。だが”特殊能力”はあまりに現実離れした表現のしかたで、少年コミックかロールプレイゲームが映画化されただけに感じる。CGにたより過ぎたのではないだろうか。愛の切なさ、裏切りの辛さ、いい要素がたくさんあるのに勿体ないと思う。
