今年のNO1候補☆これだけ素晴らしいアルバムは5年に一度出るか出ないかでしょう。アモルフィス節全開☆『ELEGY』以降半泣き状態でしたが…今作は号泣しまくってます(;_;)俺は輸入盤購入しましたが歌詞の意味も知りたくて(基本的に歌詞は余り気にしないのですが)国内盤も買いました(^O^)棺桶に入れてもらいたいアルバムの仲間入りデス笑。

フィンランドのAmorphis、通算7作目となるスタジオ・フル。3rdアルバム「ELEGY」からフロント・マンを勤めていたパシ・コスキネンが脱退、今作では新しいシンガーを迎えている。そのパシが在籍していた3rd〜6thもクオリティも高く、実験性に満ちた素晴らしいアルバムであった事は否定しないが、デス色を排除してからの楽曲にはどこか物足りなさを感じていました。しかし、今作でその印象は見事に吹き飛ばされました。彼らの持ち味である、洗練されたアレンジとフォーク/トラッド色を起点とした叙情的なメロディはそのままに、クリーン・ボイスだけでは無く、デス・ボイスも効果的に導入した事で生まれたアグレッション…それに伴い楽曲の表現力も豊かに、更に鮮やかになっている。過去の作品の良いところが全て凝縮されたかの様。凡百のメタル・バンドでは無い事を見せつける、彼らの魅力と実力が遺憾なく発揮された会心作。最高傑作と言っても差し支えないと思います。…他のレビュアーの方も書かれていますが、私も輸入盤を購入後、あまりの出来の良さに国内盤で買い直した一人です。

良いですねー。久々のアルバムですが、やはり、他のバンドには無い味わい深さがあります。（デビューアルバム以来に聞いたんだけどね）所々聞くことができるデスボイスは、やはりメタルならでは！なんですけど、民族音楽チックな所は本当ツボを押さえてますね。私は慌てて輸入版デジパックを買ってしまったのですが、巷の話によればボーナストラックがかなり良いみたいなので、国内版を購入される事をお勧めします。
