私が「指輪物語」と出会ったのはエンヤの"May It Be"がきっかけでした。
エンヤは妖精ファンタジーにとても関心を持っており、「指輪物語」のファンでした。
そういえば1991年のアルバム"Shepherd Moons"にも”Lothlorien"という曲が入っていますね。
そこで、原作を全て読み、映画も全3部作観ました。
彼女はこの物語の中でフロドが最も共感すると言っていました。
私はというと、尊敬するならガンダルフだけど、共感するならフロドですね。
特に指輪の誘惑で深い傷を負ったしまったところとか。

「ロード・オブ・ザ・リング」三部作の一作目ということで、あとの二作と比べると派手さこそないものの、カザド＝ドゥムでの死闘など見所があります。

恐らくシリーズ中、一番旅の仲間が傷つき、倒れる作品ではないかと思います。むしろあとの二作の方が死傷する可能性高いはずですが・・・。

かなりゆったりとした感じの作品なのでちょっとしんどいかもしれませんが、それ以降の面白さを考えたらなかなかどうして、味があります。

見るたびに味わいが増す、そんな作品です。

　映像がとてもいいです。ファンタジアなのに、違和感を感じず、入り込めました。
　一章を見終えた後は、すっかり「ロード・オブ・ザ・リング」の世界のことばかり、
頭の中に浮かんできて、これから起こるだろう数々の困難を想像してしまいました。
　一緒に観ていた子ども（６歳）は、すっかりお話の世界に魅入っていましたし、
父母（６０歳台）や私（３０台）も、
「こんなにおもしろいファンタジア映画は、久しぶりだ」
と思いましたので、幅広い世代で楽しめると思います。
