パトレイバーなどの音楽を手がけた川井憲次のベスト盤。
ややゆったりとした曲が多いですが、それでもイイです。
川井憲次ってどんなもん？と、興味をもたれた方なら買いの一品です。
ただコレ一枚で彼の全てを網羅していないし、個人的に好きだった曲が入ってなかったので、星は４つにしておきました。

とりあえず一通り聴いた感じではどの曲も「似たり寄ったり」。
ひたすら陰鬱で暗い曲が続く、典型的なサスペンス作品のサントラです。
作品内容をぶち壊すような出来じゃないし、イメージにはぴったりだが、それが「オリジナルサウンドトラック」という商品になったときの評価とは別問題なわけで・・・。
劇中ではもっと派手な音が鳴っていたと思い購入したが、どうやら気のせいだったようだ。

Ｌとの対決でいやが上にも盛り上がる後編の出来に期待したい。

全編迫り来るような重低音の音楽です。
ジャンル的には「パトレイバー２」に近い。
単調といえば単調ですが二度三度聞いてみると癖になるというか。もうズンズン来ます。
コアな川井憲次ファンには必須のアイテム。
ちなみにこの音楽は映画本編には本当に嵌っていました。
主題歌が載っていないのが本当に惜しいです。
