Bank Bandもいいが、Mr.Childrenはやはり完璧なユニットであることを改めて感じさせてくれる。「目を瞑っても消えない光」「でもね　僕らは未来の担い手　人の形した光」など、隙間の無いPOP調にさりげなく埋め込んだ前向きなメッセージが随所に現われる。9.11以降新たな紛争の時代に入った世界に希望の光を灯してくれるMr.Children。『It's A Wonderful World』の「あなどらないで　僕らにはまだやれることがある　手遅れじゃない　まだ間に合うさ　この世界は今日も美しい　そうだ美しい」から一貫した姿勢を崩さない櫻井を称賛しないではいられない。いつまでも『抱きしめたい』を卒業できない方、『to U』の真っ向勝負が苦手な方にお勧めかも。

ついにMr.Children待望のニューシングルがリリース。
最近は年にシングル1枚ペースとなっているだけに、それだけ期待も大きかったです。
そして、ミスチルは見事に期待にこたえてくれました！
久しぶりの軽快なアップテンポでイントロから最後まで飽きることのない一曲です。そして、メロディはポップで踊りたくなるような曲なのに、何故か涙が出てくるような感覚にもとらわれました・・・
歌詞のせいなのか分かりませんが、心にぐっとくる１曲なのは確かです。
カップリングの2曲や、ショートームービーも楽しみです。

このような曲が書けるのだろう。今年で桜井さん、いくつですか…
とてもみずみずしく爽やか。


「でもね？ぼくらは―」


頭の中に、身を乗り出しながら一生懸命語りかけてくる熱血漢の姿が
ありありと、鮮明に、はっきりくっきり浮かびます。
時代が変われば変わるほど、Mr.Childrenの楽曲は若々しくなってゆきます。
いや、青々しく、といったほうが良いのかもしれません。
この曲もそう。希望に燃える反面、聞いててなんだか儚く、泣きそうになります。
深海・ボレロよりもシフクノオト・アイラブユーのほうが好きな私的には
この曲、ミスチル屈指の良作と感じました。
