1966年10月28日、ノルウェー・オスロでのTV番組として収録された映像です。Bill Evans、Eddie Gomez、Alex Rielのトリオ、音源はMonoで、当然映像は白黒です。初期の演奏の方が好きなので、Bill Evans The Last Trio Live '80の余りにストイックな演奏よりいいと思ってます。もっとも、'80の収録後、おおよそ一月後に死んだことを考えると、見る方も暗い気持ちになってしまうからかもしれませんが・・・・
曲は、 Very Early /Stella by Statlight /If You Could See Me Now/
Autumm Leaves /Time Remenbered /Nadis /Five の7曲。
この頃の演奏は、stereoで聴くよりも、monoの方がシツトリして良い雰囲気です。Bill Evansの映像は少ないので、お勧めの一枚です。
私の知っている範囲では、'80のほかには、Bill Evans Trio in Europe Concert and TV broadcast 1964〜1975、Bill Evans Trio The Evolution Of A Trio Concert and TV broardcast 1971〜1979が良いです。The Univarsal Mind of Bill Evansは、音楽教師のお兄さんとの音楽談義風しかも非常に音楽的で、演奏は1曲だけで、演奏を期待する人には余りお勧めできません。マニアックな人向けで、ストイックなBill Evansが好きな人には良いですが、私のような凡人には高尚過ぎます。
