一流のブランドがそうであるように、ザ・ローリング・ストーンズは、パッケージを一新する際にも、常に定番は残すべきことを知っている。この長時間にわたるコンサート・フィルムは、そのマーケット戦略の公式の正当性をしっかりと裏付けている。1980年代初期のツアーから、サポートミュージシャンを控えめに増やしはしているが、この4人組は、皿の中心にミック・ジャガーの唇鳴らしヴォーカルとキース・リチャーズのお得意ギター・リフで味つけしたおなじみのメインディッシュをしっかり盛りつつ、つけあわせに目新しいビジュアル効果を添えてファンの目を楽しませることを忘れていない。ビジュアルの特徴は派手であり、同時に保守的。どっしりとした柱が支える古代石積み式デザインのメインステージ（おそらくバビロンとかけている）、巨大な長円形スクリーン（独裁国家的な影）、そしてライブ中に観客の真ん中へ単独出撃を可能にする水圧ブリッジは、間近で生身のストーンズが観られる小さなサテライト・ステージへとつながっている。
この巨大有形ステージセットは疑いなくライヴを見ごたえのあるロック・スペクタクルにしているが、小さなTVスクリーンではこの魅力を余すことなく伝えるには限界がある。だが、そのかわりメンバーのクローズアップや、速いカット、手持ちカメラのまま対象を追って走る映像などによって、観る者をアクションに集中させ興奮を伝えている。セットリストはかなり有名なヒット曲ばかり。本当に驚かされるのは、普通のバンドならつい単調に陥りそうになるときですら、グリマー・ツインズ（ミック＆キース）は巧みに集中して演奏していることだ。ショーの前半で演奏された最新曲（特に「セイント・オブ・ミー」「アウト・オブ・コントロール」）では、観客というよりも、明らかにバンドの方がエネルギーを消費している。けれども、ショーが散漫になってきたかと思われたところで、演奏が小さなむき出しのセンターステージへ移り、ついにバンドと観客の興奮は一体となった。特に盛り上がったのは、そこでの締めくくりの「ライク・ア・ローリング・ストーン」。まさに待ってました状態での絶妙なカヴァーだった。（Sam Sutherland, Amazon.com）
