高性能DSPによる優れたサウンドクオリティ
   音質制御用のDSP(デジタル・シグナル・プロセッサー)を搭載。スピーカーの特性を最大限に引き出すアクティブ・イコライザーや、ボリュームレベルに応じて音響バランスを補正する「P.A.P.回路」などを自動制御する。さらに、独自の低音再生技術により、わずかA4ノートサイズほどのコンパクトなサイズからは想像できない豊かな重低音を再現する。

専用リモコンとiPodの充電機能を装備
   クレジットカードサイズの専用リモコンを標準装備。サウンドドックの音量調節はもちろん、楽曲の再生や停止といったiPodの基本操作を行うことも可能。また、ドック部分に置くだけでiPodが充電される機能も装備しているので、長時間の連続再生でもバッテリーを消耗することなく、次の日はそのまま持ち出して使える。

ベッドサイド用に買いました。
夜、ゆったりと聞くことがほとんどですが
低音豊かなBOSEサウンドは、なかなか良い思います。
第4世代iPodで使用してますが、HDDが回転する際に音が乱れるのと、
iPodの電源を切るとSound Dockの電源も切れるとありますがさーというノイズが微かに聞こえること
（iPodを外せば聞こえない）が残念です。

特に音楽通でもなく、コンパクトさとデザイン重視でiPodスピーカーを選んでいました。

電気店でLogitecの Made For iPod ドッキングHi-Fiスピーカー LDS-RI700WH とこのBOSEを聴き比べたら、こちらのほうが低音がしっかりしていて高音が伸びやかで、細かい音まで鮮明で味わいのある音だったので決めました。まあ２万円も安いので当然かもしれませんが、Logitecのほうが音が全体的にぼやけて聴こえました。

SoundDockを使ってみて感じるのは、
机上やベッドサイドなど、身体の近くに置いて楽しむ、というBOSEの明確なコンセプトです。
(まさにイメージ画像の通りです。)
というのは、リモコンは一応ありますが、いたってシンプルなので、結局は何かとドックに載せたiPodを直接操作することが多いのです。
また、コンポのように部屋いっぱいに広がる(隣室に漏れるほどの！)ような音は出ませんが、そのかわり音量を下げても細かい音まで鮮明なのです。イヤホンで聴くよりずっといい音です。

他の方のレビューに反論させていただきますが
１　iPodは、結構しっかり挿せるので、それほどぐらつくわけではありません。私は片手で操作できています。
２　iPodのカバーですが、裏ワザ的ですが、３種類のインサートのうち、わざと穴の大きいものを選べばカバーを外さずに挿せるかもしれません。実際私は（iPod nanoですが）、シリコンカバーを着せたまま挿しています。

　白状しますと、ブランド物ということで買いました。
まあ、買ったこと自体は満足していますし、デザインも実物を見て一層気に入りました。
　音質に関しては、隣にいた友人曰く｢低音が響いて、心地いい｣とのことです。
｢BOSEのスピーカーは大きくなくとも良い音を出せる｣と、パンフレットにあったのですが、確かに小さいサイズにしてはしっかりした音となっていると思います。
今までPCで聞いていたので一層顕著に思えるだけかもしれませんが。
　音やブランドより機能性やその他のものを重視する方は避けたほうが無難かもしれません。
iPod用スピーカーの中にはスリープ機能や、ラジオ、目覚まし等の機能を併せ持ったものもありますし。
　また、ドック型スピーカー全てに共通することかもしれませんが、iPodを挿したままの操作はちょっと辛いです。
根元で固定されているわけではないのでボタンなどを押すときは後ろから支えながらとなります。
しかし、そう隙間があるわけではありません。
私は本体に指紋を付けることを嫌がり、カバーを本体と併せて買って以来付け続けていたのですが、そのままでは挿せないので、外して挿すことになりました。

結論として、音重視なら買いです。
