名手バート・バカラックの作品。映画を見たかたなら、Ｂ．Ｊ．トーマスの歌う「雨に濡れても」を思い出すことだろう。だが、他のインスト曲にも、情趣あふれる優れたものが多い。聴き所は、「サウス・アメリカン・ゲッタウェイ」の深みのあるコーラス。だが勿論、それぞれの曲で、「明日に向かって撃て」の名場面が瞼に浮かぶ。映画サントラは多額の資金が投下されるという性格上、トップ・クラスの音楽家が時代を彩る作品を作ることが多い。その中にあっても、この作品はベスト・ザ・ベストと言っていいだろう。

4曲目は見落としがちですが、スキャットものとしては最高の曲ですよ。この一曲だけでも買い！！！そうでなくても名盤。スタンダード。ぱっぱらっぱらぱらぱーららららららっらららーらーらーらっららららっららららら・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・

新しいものだけが優れている訳ではない。その最たるものが映画であったり音楽であったりする訳ですが、同じ時代に生きている作曲家として、やはりB.バカラックは私の永遠のフェイヴァリットであり続けると思います。
映画、音楽、B.バカラック、、、そんなキーワードに無関心な方でも、未来永劫'60s最高のアメリカンポップスで有り続けるであろう[2](B.J.トーマスの名唱)は一度は耳にされているはず。
かつて洟垂れ小僧だった私が、昭和40年代の某子供向けTV番組で、お姉さんが"雨だれの首飾り"と称してこの曲を歌っていたのが今でも耳に残っています(嗚呼…)。
もちろんそれだけではなく、最高のスキャット・ソングである[4]、その他、様々な情景を思い描かせるインストルメンタルも含み、やはり'バカラック、最高!'と頷ける作品です。
