『ひぐらしのなく頃に』の第３篇『祟殺し編』をドラマＣＤとして再現。第２編までと同様に、テレビアニメ版と全く同じ、非常にレベルの高い声優陣（と言うより、テレビアニメ版がドラマＣＤ版と同じと言うのが正解ですけどね）を起用し、ＣＤ４枚組、総収録時間５時間オーバーとボリューム感も満点。聴き応えのあるドラマＣＤに仕上がっています。
これで"出題編"と呼ばれる第３編まで全てがドラマＣＤ化されましたが、このシリーズは原作ノベルゲームのドラマＣＤ版であり、アニメ版よりは原作のエッセンスをちゃんと残していますので、アニメ版から入って原作版を知らないファンには、原作の雰囲気を知る為のツールとして聴く価値があると思います。
この『祟殺し編』、４枚のＣＤが綺麗に「起承転結」に該当しており、過去の２編よりも構成的にまとまっていると感じられました。ＣＤ一枚毎にちゃんとストーリーの区切りとメリハリがつけられており、それほどダラダラした印象が無く聴き易かったです。
声優陣の演技も相変わらず素晴らしい。今編のメインで最も低年齢のヒロイン・北条沙都子役をベテランのかないみか嬢が演じていますが、沙都子の豹変には一人二役に近かったレナや魅音のそれとは違い、より現実的な痛々しさを表現する必要がある訳で、高い技術と豊富な経験を持つベテランが登用されているのは納得。かないみか嬢が見事にその機用に応える演技を披露しているのも素晴らしいです。もう一方の主役・保志総一朗氏も益々磨きがかかってきています。
今編はホンワカしたテイストが少なく緊張感の高い展開が続いており、その分聴いていてダレる部分が少なかったですね。ただ、ＢＧＭの種類が少なく同じ曲が何度も流れるのが少々興醒めでした。
このドラマＣＤシリーズ、これ以降のリリースは発表されていませんが、音声劇としてのレベルは高く評価出来ると思いますので、是非この後も期待したいですね。

　今回も原作の雰囲気を忠実に再現しています。扱う題材は陰鬱なものなので笑って楽しむものではないですが、それから逃げずに作られているので良いです。声優さんたちの演技にも鬼気迫るものがあります。圭一が部活メンバーや大人たちと議論を戦わせる様には圧倒されます。特にレナ役の中原さんが本領を発揮しています。
　またブックレットに記載されているパスワードを使って、ネットからおまけTIPSをダウンロードすることが出来ます。これはただのおまけではありません。何せ合計30分以上にも及びますから。このシナリオは部活やお遊びが中心になっており、ひぐらしのドタバタ的雰囲気が楽しめます。特に野球対決は圭一の(違った意味で)最大の見せ場になっています。これを加えて初めて本当の祟殺しであり、評価５に繋がります。
