●1969年発表。グループ解散後発売されたクリームのラスト・アルバム。スタジオ録音とライヴ録音（1968年10月最後のアメリカン・ツアーより）それぞれ3曲を収録。プロデューサー：フェリックス・パパラルディ

【アーティストについて】
クリームCREAM
MEMBER: エリック・クラプトン、ジンジャー・ベイカー、ジャック・ブルース
ブルース、ジャズを融合させた、インプロヴィゼーション溢れるサウンドを展開し、ジミ・ヘンドリックス、レッド・ツェッペリンにつながるブルース・ロック、ハード・ロックの基礎を作ったトリオ。ヤードバーズを脱退したクラプトンと、グラハム・ボンド・オーガニゼーションのメンバーだったジャック・ブルース、ジンジャー・ベイカーが1966年に結成。（ジャックはブルースブレイカーズでほんの短期間だがエリックといっしょに活動したことがある。またマンフレッド・マンにも所属していた。）1966年のデビュー・アルバム『フレッシュ・クリーム(FRESH CREAM)』はＵＫチャートでＴＯＰ１０入り。1967年には、ほとんどがオリジナル曲であるセカンド・アルバム『カラフル・クリーム(DISRAELI GEARS)』発表。
シングル「サンシャイン・オブ・ユア・ラヴ」がアメリカでヒット。1968年には2枚組みアルバム『クリームの素晴らしき世界(WHEELS OF FIRE)』を発表。全米1位を獲得し、シングル「ホワイト・ルーム」も大ヒット。世界的な人気を獲得した。しかし音楽性の違いから1968年末に解散を宣言。
翌1969年に発表されたラスト・アルバム『グッバイ・クリーム(GOODBYE CREAM)』も全米2位となり、その解散が惜しまれたが、クラプトンはベイカーとブラインド・フェイスを結成し、クリームの活動と完全に決別した。

4.0 out of 5 stars 名曲「バッヂ」収録のラスト・アルバム, 2006/11/19
６９年発表、クリームのラスト・アルバム『グッバイ・クリーム』。
前作『クリームの素晴らしき世界』の延長線上といった作品で、
ライヴ音源３曲、スタジオ収録３曲という変則的な内容。
本作を最後にクリームは解散してしまうので、これが最後のオリジナル・アルバムです。

やはりエゴむき出しのバトルが展開するライヴ演奏。
長尺の即興演奏が聴きモノの「アイム・ソー・グラッド」。
スタジオ版よりいっそうへヴィな「政治家」。
ブルージーなギター・ソロと地を這うベースが強烈な「トップ・オブ・ザ・ワールド」。

クラプトン・ファンにはおなじみの「バッヂ」。この曲はジョージ・ハリソンも作曲に加わっており、
なんとギターで演奏にも参加しています。最近でもクラプトンのライヴでは定番となっている名曲です。
ビートルズ的なポップなサウンドが印象的なジャック・ブルース作の「スクラップヤード」。
後のブラインド・フェイスを思わせるジンジャー・ベイカー作の「ホワット・ア・ブリングダウン」。

スタジオ３曲はメンバー３人はそれぞれ一曲ずつ個々に持ち寄った曲です。
この辺からも当時のメンバー間の仲の悪さが想像できますが、結果的にはバリエーションに富んだ内容に仕上がっています。
本作はクリームの作品の中では、わりと影の薄い作品ですが個人的にはかなりお気に入りのアルバムです。
クリーム・ファン及び、クラプトン・ファンの方なら買って損は無い作品だと思います。
