綺麗なヒップホップ。
スピリチュアルジャズを聴いているようなリラックス感を得ることが出来る。
とても高度な音とイメージだと思う。
もしこれらのダウンテンポなブレイクビーツがジャジーなもの本来の美しさを消しているとする意見があるとすれば、それはジャンルにおいて間違った比較をしている。
あくまで、ヒップホップという手法の俎上でnujabesは非常に高度なことをやっていると思う。
個人的には切ないダンクラっぽい四つ打ちのWorld's End Rhapsodyが好き。

ジャンルにとらわれず聴いてほしい名盤。自身Rock、Punk、畑出身ですが、このアルバムはジャンルなんて取っ払ってくれます。「今流行りのJazzy＆Hip Hopなんて」って思って聴かないのはもったいなさすぎるアルバム。Modal Soul自体だいぶ前ですし。
それにしてもNujabes氏のサンプリングの良いセンスには驚き、美しいサウンドに酔いしれます。
巨勢典子さんのI Miss Youをサンプリングした「reflection eternal」は絶品です。
原曲の良さを引き立ててさらにNujabes氏の選曲の良さアレンジセンスが混在し、
Luv(sic.) pt.3 Feat.Shing02、flowersなど名曲だらけ。サンプリングした曲からNujabes氏のルーツも掘っていく楽しみもあります。Jazzが好きみたいですね。
音楽への愛を感じます。
ずっと聴き続けるであろう数少ないアルバムの中の1枚です。
