１stでNao'ymtを迎え東洋っぽいR&Bを歌い、２ndではフロア受けしそうなデジタルハウスをやって、３rdでは懐かしい感じのディスコナンバーを歌ったかと思ったら、再びNao’ymtと組んだR&Bデュエットを行い、やっと方向性をつかみ始めたかと思ったら、アルバム先行シングルではありえないくらいポップな曲をリリースした名取香り。正直言って、このアルバムがどうなるのかは聴くまで分かりませんでした。

正直言います！微妙です。
デビュー前にMISIAを発掘した与田氏を唸らせたという歌唱力は確かになかなかです。エキゾティックな風貌もなかなか（好みが分かれるところだとは思いますが）、クラシックバレエをやっていたということで、スタイルもすばらしい。しかし、いろいろやりすぎてる感があります。バラエティがあると言えば、よく聞こえますが、日本ではこういう統一感がないアルバムは多いです。１６曲中既発曲が８曲と多い（しかもアルバム中Interludeも収録）というのも気になる。

曲自体は粒がそろってはいます。安室の新たなブレーンとして注目度の高いNao'ymtの早期起用によって生まれた「Gentleman」やNaoのナヨナヨした声がいい感じの「Goodbye」らへんはなかなかの完成度。WISEを起用した「I believe myself」はこのアルバムのハイライトともいえる良さ！、そして問答無用のかっこよさを誇る現時点の代表曲とも言える「Player」はヤバイ。バラードは正直イマイチなんですが、「貴方のそばで」、「another truth」は聴けます。

このアルバムの問題点は新曲の弱さ、でしょう。あとカップリングの総動員感は否めない。じっくり煮詰めて、シングルを排除してでも完成度の高いアルバムを完成させて欲しかった。個人的に「Darling」は懐かしいというよりも、ダサく感じて、アルバムの中で浮いてる。

変な節回しに聴こえる程エキゾチックな名取香り。
ボーカルパターンが若干おぼつかない気もするが地盤がかなり固いため表現自体は上手い。
ベースはシャーデー＋日本のクラブミュージック。
真っ正直なアシッドジャズ系R&Bをやり過ぎてるため仕上がりは地味。
一応ポップな曲も混じってるんだがR&Bベースは真面目に守っててプロデュースの面子の割にはポップさは薄い。
シャーデーの影響がかなり濃くシングルではカバーもやっているが本人の意向かアルバム曲ではインスパイアっぽい曲が何曲かあったり。
濃い目のエキゾチック系ボーカルだがそれほどクドくはない。トラックがストレートな曲が無かったりするし。
ジャンルが好きな人でもあんま印象には残らないかも。その代わり濃い仕上がりの割には聴きやすい。

これまでのシングル曲が結構好きだったので、期待してたが故に、
少々苦言を。

１）全体・・可もなく不可もなく。いい意味でさらっと聞き流せる。
　　　　　　ただシングルを越える曲は無い。インパクトは弱い。

２）５「貴方のそばへ」がひどい。
　　こんな陳腐なバラードを歌う必要があるのか？
　　作曲はyudai suzuki →鈴木雄大でしょうか？
　　彼は嫌いではないが、あまりにベタベタ。歌謡曲か？
　　アレンジもひどい。１曲聴くのがつらかった。アルバムの雰囲気とまったくマッチしてない。

はっきり言って、このままじゃ消えてしまうかも。
声は好きなので、次の展開に期待します。
