　明菜さんのアルバムの中で一番好きな作品です。
　当時、明菜さんが好きだとよく言っていた「恋におちて」の小林明子さんと、竹内まりやさんが、５曲ずつ曲提供されているというだけでも豪華なアルバム。大ヒットしたにもかかわらず、まりやさんの「駅」「ＯＨ　ＮＯ，ＯＨ　ＹＥＳ！」は先にこのアルバムのために書き下ろされたと言うことは、残念ながら一般的にあまり知られていません。（発売２ヶ月前の神戸公演で、カセットテープで「駅」を聴かせてくれたことを思い出しました。）
　あの大問題作「不思議」に続くアルバムと言うことで、どうなることかと思っていましたが、全編通して都会の雰囲気が漂うとてもお洒落なアルバムです。「ミックジャガーに微笑を」の前後の演出は当時とても斬新でお気に入りでした。ただ、ボーカルはウィスパー系が多く、（曲のイメージに合っているかもしれませんが）歌詞が聞き取りづらい曲もあります。ウィスパー歌唱が増え出したのはこの頃からかもしれません。

全体的にささやくふうに歌っている曲が多く、なんと言っているのかなと、歌詞カードで確認したり、あとで竹内まりやさんの歌う「OH NO, OH YES! 」を聴いて、そう言ってたのね。と納得したり。しかし、その歌い方ゆえに漂う女のせつなさがよいのです。なんだかせつなく哀しい。「赤のエナメル」がいい。この曲を聴いていると、…相手の心が前と変わってしまったことを知りながらまださよならは言えない…なんて、理屈じゃなくて、こういう思いってホントあるんだよねえ。としみじみせつなく思うのです。ラストの「ミック・ジャガーに微笑みを」は入り方が凝っていて、そしてかなりかっこいいです。

NYか何処かのキャリアーウーマン的な感じがする
都会版『CRUSE』の様なしっとりとした雰囲気に浸れる作品です。
最近の明菜さんの磨きのかかったウィスパーヴォイスの
原点的な所を堪能出来ます！！

このアルバムの都会の女性が全てかなぐり捨てて
静かに旅に出てしまう感じがするのが『CRUSE』と云う作品の様に
何処か通じるものを感じられます。
素敵なアルバムです！！
