本物のアーティスト＝芸術家　が出す音はこういうモノかと、
最初の一音を聴いた瞬間からそう思わされます。
Voが加入し、前作までより聴きやすくなっています。
しかし、ギターの音はより研ぎ澄まされてますから、
そういった心配は無用。

これからもずっと楽しみなバンド


2006〜2007年のクラプトン・ワールドツアーでいっきに世界的注目を浴びたデレク・トラックス。（そういう私もそのひとり。オールマンブラザーズバンドに入ったというニュースを聞いたときも、これほどのギタリストとは知らず愚かにも無視し続けていた。）このSonglinesで初めて聴いてすぐにはまってしまった。ジャズやフュージョン系の延々と続く即興演奏は元々苦手だったが、何故かＤＴＢの演奏は惹きつけられるのだ。根底にブルーズが流れているからか、はたまたDerek's magicか？1970年代に青春時代を過ごし、未だその時代の音楽を引きずってきた者としては、今後ずっとリアルタイムで聴き続けられそうなバンドの出現はとても嬉しい。

「ブラザース＆シスターズ」以来、オールマンブラザースバンドとは20年以上離れていたが、このＣＤを購入し、昔の血が大きく騒ぎ始めた。デレクのギターテクニック、インスピレーション等とてつもない可能性を持ったアーティストとこのＣＤで出会うことが出来た。また、オールマンブラザースバンドも同時に聞き返したくなった。やはり、偉大なバンドであったことを思い出させると同時に、若きデレクという音楽家を生むアメリカ音楽の奥深さを、この一枚で思い知った。
とにかく凄いアルバムだ。
