韓国映画超大作『デュエリスト』のために書き下ろしたカノンのニューシングル「こころ」は、ベートーヴェンの傑作ピアノソナタ「悲愴」のメロディにインスピレーションを受けてカノンが作詞・作曲した作品です。明るい中にかすかな哀しみを感じさせる独特のメロディラインを生かしながら、それを洗練させて現代に再提案する、カノンならではのクラシカル・クロスオーバーの手法を取り入れています。主演のハ・ジウォン演じるナムスンの心の声を代弁したかのような、美しくも切ないラヴ・ソングです!

【アーティストについて】
1980年生まれ。海外生活をしていた13歳の時に聖歌隊に加わり、この頃から作詞作曲を開始する。2000年にクイーンズランド州立音楽大学声楽を卒業、2002年7月より都内でのライブ活動をスタートする。2003年7月にピアノ弾き語りのミニアルバム「Alleluia(アレルヤ)」をリリース。 9月にはロシア公演を行い、モスクワバプテスト教会、マールイ劇場、赤の広場野外ステージ、老人施設でのコンサートで好評を得る。2004年2月に「Hymn of Grace(ヒム・オブ・グレイス)」をリリース。ヒーリングを超えた聖なる歌声で、独自のスタイルで歌うオリジナル曲や、クラシック曲、外国民謡などが収録されている。2004年10月20日、初のメジャーシングル 「キセキ Song of Love」をソニー・ミュージックジャパンインターナショナルよりリリース。

韓国映画『デュエリスト』のTVスポットで使用されたイメージ・ソング。
そのTVスポットではじめて聴いて即購入。
映画では流れません。
なんといっても美しいメロディと澄んだ声が魅力で、聴くと心が安らぎます。
メロディは、ベートーヴェンのピアノソナタ「悲愴」からの引用ですが、
カノンによる別の曲として聴いたほうが正解でしょう。
C/W「キセキ Song of Love」は、アルバム「Primary Flowers」収録曲のピアノヴァージョン。
ジャケットもきれい。
（「Primary Flowers」もあわせて購入。こちらもジャケット写真がきれい。）

カノンさんの声を聞いたのはNHK朝ドラ「ちりとてちん」の中で歌われた「英語版〜翼を下さい」でした。
彼女の非常に繊細な声質と美しい日本語の発音。日本語は豊かな発声をすると、どうしてもイタリア語のようになってしまう歌手が多い中で、日本語発音と発声の豊かさが丁度いいバランスで歌える稀有な歌手です。
１曲目「こころ」ではベートーベン「悲愴」の第二楽章を、２曲目「キセキ」はパッヘルベルのカノンをなぞっています。音と言葉の組み合わせが見事です。聖歌隊出身と聞いて「なるほどね〜」とうなづいてしまうカノンの声。カノンシリーズ入門としてはお勧めの一枚です。
