1stやEPで見せたドラムンベースやブレイクビーツといった打ち込みの要素はそのままに、よりロックバンドとしてのエモーショナルな部分を強調したサウンドは今までよりもグルーヴがタイトに引きしまり、かつてないダイナミックなサウンドへと変貌した。特に冒頭の2曲 drove through ghosts to get here await rescue はまるで初期のエイフェックスツインの精神分裂ぎみなリズムを持つドラムンベースサウンドに凄まじい轟音ギターが炸裂、そして儚いピアノが全体を覆う唯一無比の大傑作。その彼らの最大の特徴の一つとも言えるピアノの導入が見事にマッチしたアルバム中最もドラマチックな作品 radio protector (今作の国内盤にボーナス映像としてビデオクリップを収録しています)がラストを締めくくる。2006年のUKツアーにはクリス・クラーク (WARP)が同行するなどまさにジャンルの幅の広さを知らしめるライブを披露してくれます。ポストロック、轟音ロックの壁を突ってくれる期待のバンド!

【アーティストについて】
英国シェフィールド出身Simon, Paul, Rob, Joeの4人組。2004年に1stアルバム the fall of math をMonotreme Recordsよりリリース。小気味いいブレイクビーツに美しいピアノそして狂暴性のある轟音ギターサウンドが絡む今までに聴いた事のないポストロックが話題を呼び一躍シーンを担うアーティストとして登場する。その後アルバムのリード曲でもある retreat! retreat!をシングルとしてリリース(本作の国内盤にはこのシングルのカップリングから2曲収録しています)。続けてEP holeそして未発表曲やリミックスを集めた企画盤を出し、2ndアルバムへ向けて着々と制作をすすめる。そして2005年10月にMonotreme Recordsより待ちに待たれた彼らの最新作one time foe all timeをリリース。


Album Details

Following the release of their widely acclaimed debut album The Fall Of Math in 2004, 65daysofstatic spent several months touring the UK, playing to packed venues and festival tents. One Time For All Time was written on and between tours and is a mixture of confusion, guilt, exhaustion and anger. Furious drum'n'glitch beats collide with walls of guitar noise, broken laptop clicks and tranquil pools of piano. There are still no words. The band are still trying to articulate all that stuff that no-one's really invented words for yet. Monotreme. 2005.

英国シェフィールドから現れた
４人組インストロメンタル爆走バンド。
セカンドにして日本盤も出す今や注目株。
激しいデジタルビートとギターノイズに
美しいストリングスやピアノが絡み付く。

個人的ベストトラック・・・２

世の現代音楽好きにはこの轟音に共感、共鳴せざるを得まい。

オリジナルであろうとする熱量とでも言うのか、
怒濤の攻撃の中でも自分たちの”形”が既に
出来上がっているように僕は音像が見える。

他のボンクラバンドとは気合いの入り方が違います。
自分たちのパターンが形成されつつあるので
“落としどころ”は踏まえつつマンネリ化しないで
すくすくと怪物らしく成長していってほしい。

ポスト・ロック好きやハードコア好きにもお勧めの
驚異にして脅威。

一曲目から二曲目までが 凄いです。
やられまして即購入しました。が しかし 他の曲は若干テンションが下がりますね。
若干ムラを感じました(他の曲が悪いわけじゃないけど)

　冷たい質感を伴った激情の奔流を奏でる英シェフィールドの4人組、65daysofstaticの2ndフル。Mogwai meets Aphex Twinとも形容される、情感的な構成と暴発的なデジタルビーツ、華々しく炸裂する爆音ギターが同居するポストロック。

　デジタルノイズの錯綜。空間を震わせる分厚いバスライン。突如として高速のドラムビートと共に吐き出される、ディストーションギターの轟音爆音。これらが一気に噴出、混濁、感応し、ピアノを始めとする種々のストリングスの装飾を纏い、劇的な音の濁流となって押し寄せる。

　展開そのものを見れば端正とも言えるアプローチのサウンドだが、随所で突発的に炸裂する爆音の量感・情感のド派手さにより、一気に特異な存在へと化けている。後半にかけて初出のインパクトはやや弱まるものの、得体の知れぬ巨大な生物の息遣いを耳元で感じているような、生々しい質感の冒頭2曲は秀逸。
