   12歳のときに両親を亡くして財産を腹黒い伯父ランダルに横領され、今はパリで芸術的大泥棒としてその名を馳せるジョルジュ・ランダル（ジャン＝ポール・ベルモンド）は、かつての情婦ジュヌヴィエーヌ（マリー・デュポワ）を伯父に接近させ、従妹のシャルロット（ジュヌヴィエーヌ・ビジョルド）とも協力して、財産の奪回を図る。
   ジャン＝ジャック・ポーヴェールの『泥棒』を原作に、名匠ルイ・マル監督がベル・エポック感覚たっぷりに描いたピカレスク・ロマン。20世紀初頭のパリを舞台に、全体的にのんびりムードの中、若き日のベルモンドの粋が光る好篇。また本筋とは別に、主人公の泥棒仲間たちが世知辛いご時世に対して嘆くといった描写などもおもしろい。（増當竜也）

4.0 out of 5 stars あなたの心を盗まない泥棒の物語, 2009/8/5
まず最初に、商品説明のレビューに、原作者ジャン=ジャック・ポーヴェールとありますが、これはフランスのラディカルな出版社で、原作者はジョルジュ・ダリアンです。
今作は、ルイ・マルの映画と言うよりは、製作セルジュ・シルベルマン&脚本ジャン=クロード・カリエールの映画と言った方がいいかもしれません。
このコンビは、フランス時代のブニュエル映画を手掛けた事で有名で、大島渚の「マックス・モン・アムール」等にも関わっており、
彼等が携わった作品に顕著な、文学色、反道徳的ユーモア、そして感情を排したトーン、勿論すべて、この「パリの大泥棒」にも見られ、スターのベルモンドもほとんど人形扱いです。
ベルモンド扮する大泥棒がルパンよろしく華麗な盗難劇を繰り広げないのでは、一体何を楽しめばいいのかと思いますが、
それは冒頭の、「僕は汚く盗む」の宣言と共に、調度品へ何の技術もなく荒々しくねじこまれたバールが立てる音を聞けば、自ずと分かってくるはずでしょう。
当然ルイ・マルとしては異色作の部類でしょうが、文学愛好癖はマル自身にも見られ、「恋人たち」のような、全てが手に入る故の不安の姿を映して、やはり彼の作品なのかと気付かされます。
