今年一月についに念願の初来日を果たしたノルウェーが誇るブラックメタルバンドSatyricon。
母国では前作「VOLCANO」がチャートTOP3にランクインするなど絶大な人気を誇る。（スゲェなノルウェーｗ）
前作同様に典型的なブラックメタルのサウンド（音が津波のように怒涛の勢いで押し寄せてくるような）とは異なり、
ギターリフを軸に置き、ミドルテンポのドゥーム的とも言って良いような楽曲で構成されている。
曲の展開に欠け、単調な面があるため初聴の印象はあまり良いものではなかったが
今作の肝である反復的でダークなリフは中毒性が強く、思わずリピート再生してしまう魅力がある。
評価の分かれる作品であることには間違いないが、ブラックメタルというジャンルの頂上に立ちながらも
その地位に安住せずに突き進む彼らの姿勢には素直に敬意を評したい。

前作をはるかに上回ったアルバムです 一曲目からズンズンと奈落の底に叩きつけられます サティーアのデビルボイスも更に威力を増してます 前より曲の構成がシンプルになった感じがするが、個人的には好き。こりゃやばいね ブラックメタル好きは買うべし!!

暗いです、陰鬱です。
ドラムが1349のフロストだからといってあの爆走ドラムが拝めると思ったら大間違いです。
1349とは違うブラックメタルの世界がここには広がっています。
ギターとドラムと声だけでここまで恐い音世界を構築してしまうとは。
恐いです、「悪魔の進軍」みたいな感じです。
