FAT太郎と名乗っているだけあり、僕は熱心なFAT信者です。
だからという訳では無いけど、やはりNOFXの新作、期待せずには
居られません。

「punk in drublic」、「so long and thanks for all
the shoes」、「pump up the valuum」、「the war on errorism」
等々、彼等は常にメロディックパンクの教科書とも言える、また
キッズを満足させ続けるアルバムをリリースしてきました。

哀愁メロディを撒き散らしながら疾走したかと思えば、凄くPOPな
メロディを炸裂させてハッとさせられたり、レゲエ・スカ調の曲で
一息つかせてくれたり、これ程楽曲の幅が広くて、一枚通して飽きさ
せてくれないパンクロックバンドはやはり彼等しか居ないなという事
を再認識。本作もその流れを汲んだバラエティに富んだ内容の濃い
アルバムに仕上がっています。

メロディックパンク入門としてもベストな内容だと思います。あと、
同時にリリースされたEP「never trust a hippy」には本編には収録
されていない哀愁FAST PUNKの名曲"golden boys"と"i'm going to
hell for this one"が入ってるのでお金に余裕のある人は是非こちら

通常通り、3年を待って発表されたNOFX最新作、“Wolves in Wolve Clothing”は、そのスタートの1曲目が示す通りの仕上がりになった。

予定通りだったか、はわからないが、隠しトラックを含まない18曲のロングランにNoFXは、確かにNoFXらしい解答を示したといってもいい。

前作“ War on Errorism”が珠玉のポリティカルパンク・アルバムに仕上がったための期待。それを差し引きすれば、“Wolves in Wolve Clothing”は上々の出来だ。

痛烈にイラク戦争とブッシュ大統領を批判する2曲目「USA-holes」は、NoFXらしからぬ重厚なBassが全編に渡り存在感を示した名曲だし、つづく3曲目「Seeing Double At The Triple Rock」はライブ盛り上がること間違いなしの、ひさしぶりにユーモアたっぷりの楽しい曲。

Fat MikeとNoFXの面々の創造性や、ユーモアのセンスは変わらずハイセンス。7曲目“Benny Got Blowed Up”では、イラク戦争をFat Mikeらしい観点から批判し、8曲目“Leaving Jesusland”もまた、同様に差別と宗教について面白く、しっかりと批判する。

全体的に曲が半端な感じで終わってしまっている点が“60%”なのだろうか。しかし、曲名で示しているのであれば、それが狙いである可能性は高い。
高いクオリティを保ち続けるNoFXの最新盤、買って損をすることだけはない。

　さすがにこれだけのキャリアのバンドにとっては，「はずれ」を引く可能性は低いわけで，期待通りの出来です．逆に言うと，期待以上ではないわけで，そこが微妙に-1してしまう点です．
　本編は約30分で，ラストにシークレット・トラックとしてスタジオでのちょっとしたデモの断片が収録されてます．
　1曲選ぶのなら2.がオススメですね．
　あと，日本でのお楽しみを歌った10.も良い感じなので是非！

　また，レーベル・サンプラーが同梱されてるので，お得ですよ．
