ダリウス大帝の手先によって選手生命を絶たれたプロ野球選手・ツワブキサンシロー。しかし自身が超能力者であることを知らされ、チームメイトと共に大空魔竜とガイキングを駆使し、ダリウス大帝との戦いに挑む。初の東映アニメーションによるオリジナルアニメ作品。全44話を収録したDVD-BOX。

この商品に関心の有る方は、内容についてはご存知の方が多いと思うので内容に関してでなく感じたことを述べさせて頂きます。
今回、「BOX」として売り出されているのですが、そのBOXの紙質が薄くぺらぺらで、外箱として殆ど機能しません。既存の東映作品のBOXを期待している方にはかなり物足りないものだと思われます。
更に今回はデジパック仕様になりましたが、こちらも他社から出ている全話収録のものにかなり工夫を凝らしたものがあるだけに安っぽさは否めません。
長年待ち望んでいたファンが購入するものですし、再発売も恐らくないでしょう。同社の先行発売商品の仕様イメージもあります。もう少し保存に耐える商品として発売してほしかった、とこの点においては非常に残念です。
ただ、発売してくれたことには意義を感じるので☆３としました。
デジパックでの発売そのものを否定するわけではありませんので、今後の往年名作テレビシリーズを発売される際にはもう少し丁寧な作りを期待したいと思います。

内容は問題なし。
ライナーも初めてみる資料が多い。

が、安っぽいペラペラのパッケージにガッカリ...。せめて外箱位はちゃんと厚い紙使いましょうよ。
海外TVシリーズの真似なんかしなくていいから、値段に見合った商品を作って欲しい。

凶悪極まりない大空魔竜とガイキングのデザイン、個性的・印象的なキャラ達、移動要塞大空魔竜が事件現場に出向きそこで戦闘を展開する(=定点の戦いでない)ため話のバリエーションが豊富で飽きが来ない等、声優陣と音楽のマンネリや作画の酷さを差し引いてもとても見応えのある傑作だと思います…と何だか随分マトモなことを書いてしまいましたがズバリ申し上げましょう。これはあの「鋼鉄ジーグ」と並ぶ荒唐無稽で破天荒、いや、非常識でやりたい放題の大傑作です!!顔面の装甲フッ飛ばしてミサイル撃ちまくったり口から火を吹いたり胴体で噛み付いたり相手に抱きついて頭の馬鹿デカい角押し当てて電撃食らわせたり左利きだったりするのは後にも先にもガイキングしかいません!!名前はガイキングだけどやってることはガイ○チです。また、母艦の大空魔竜も変な武器持っていたりわけわからん攻撃したりでガイキングに負けず劣らず素敵です。東映さんは本当に豪快でサービス精神旺盛ですねぇ。感謝あるのみです。DVD作品としては、画質音質共になかなか良好です。ただ、若干赤みが強いので少し調整した方がいいでしょう。
