世紀の名曲ドント・ルック・バックを初めて聴いたのは、中学３年生の時でした。
FMラジオから流れてきたそりゃもうカッコイイ音の洪水。
メロディアスな曲に絶妙のハーモニー。聴いたとたんにノックアウトでした！！
当時、ビートルズのLPレコードを買いあさっていたボクですが、
ビートルズを浮気して、このドント・ルック・バックLPを購入しました。
LPレコードジャケットからはみ出さんばかりの宇宙船ボストン号のイラスト。
これがまた魅力的でした。
二つ折りジャケットを広げると、大迫力のボストン号新惑星着陸の図が楽しめたもんです。
CDでは、当時のイラストの迫力は望めませんが、音質はかなりＵＰですね。
素晴らしいのひと言です！！
ボクは、このセカンドアルバムが最初だったので、ボストンといえばドント・ルック・バックです。
洋楽ファンのコレクションマストアイテムです。
輸入盤、日本盤にかかわらず買っておいて間違いない作品ですよ！！

真のリマスター盤とは正にこの事でしょう。
楽曲については今さら言うまでも無いでしょうしボーナストラックも必要無いと思います。
音の分離、定位、クリアー度等、28年も前のアルバムとは思えない仕上がりに本当に感動しました。特に4曲目のA Man I'll Never Beの臨場感はアナログレコードから聞いている方には驚きの一言ですよ！(ヘッドホンで聞いてみて下さい)。これほどの完成度に仕上げられるのもTom Scholzの技量とレコード会社に対する発言力が有ればこそ(多分)と感じます。今回の2枚のリマスターで全てのアルバムの音の時代差がほとんど無くなったようにも感じます。ちなみにU.S.盤のレビューです。
Tom Scholz恐るべし！

ボストンの２nd『ドント・ルック・バック』。
デビュー作で空前の大ヒットを記録した彼らが２年ぶりに発表した、前作の続編といった印象の作品。

キャッチーなイントロの軽快なロック・ナンバー「Don't Look Back」、ギター・ソロが最高にカッコイイ「It's Easy」、その２曲を繋ぐプログレッシブなインスト曲「The Journey」も秀逸です。そして、本作のハイライト「A Man I'll Never Be」。この曲はトム・ショルツの華麗なギター・フレーズとブラッド・デルプの感情豊かなボーカルが見事な融合を果たしている名バラードです。旧Ｂ面も、サビのコーラスが美しい「Feelin' Satisfied」、いかにもアメリカン・ロックといった印象の「Party」など名曲揃いです。

全体的に前作の延長線上のものといった感じなので真新しさはありませんが、その分前作が気に入った方は絶対に気に入ると思います。個人的には１stよりも「A Man I'll Never Be」が収録されている本作の方が好きです。

尚、この輸入盤は紙ジャケット仕様ではありませんので、ご注意を。

bostonがﾊﾞﾝﾄﾞとして製作したｱﾙﾊﾞﾑはこの1枚だけ。（tom氏唯一の妥協作）4,8曲目は1stから外れた曲。但しﾀｲﾄﾙ曲の出来は群を抜いている。
