電子辞書を買うより安いからと思い購入したのですが、思ったよりも使用頻度が低い…。学校の教室で使うわけにはいかないし、家でちょっと調べたいことがあったら、わざわざDSの電源入れずに、本の辞典を開いて調べても、時間はそんなに変わらないし。なので、家で連続的に調べるものがある時に使うんですが、国語辞典としてはともかく、英和や和英辞典として使うと画面をスクロールさせる必要があり、それで眼が疲れてしまいます。
任天堂関連の言葉が載ってたりするし、暇なときとかに国語辞典モードで端から色々検索していくのは結構楽しいです。ミニゲームを発見すると少しだけ嬉しい気持ちにもなります。クイズは一通りやりましたが、…まあ、おまけって感じです。ちょっとだけ日本語の知識が増えるかもといったところ。あとのおまけ機能はほとんど使ってません。
タッチペンで書いたときに、かなや英文字の認識は結構誤認識されますが、似た文字は候補から選べるので、そこまで困りません。英文字だったら、筆記体の方が正確に認識されやすいですね。
総合的に見ると、あまり人に勧めようとは思わないんですが、まあ、こういうソフトを1本くらい持っててもいいかな、という感じです。

以前使っていた某ＰＤＡ（電子手帳）の辞書はとても重宝しました。特に判らない漢字など、「へん」や字画で探さなければならない漢和辞典より、タッチペンでさささっと書いて認識させ、検索する方法は遙かに便利でしたし、分厚い辞書を何冊も持ち歩かなくて済むのでどこでも調べられました。
このＰＤＡ、バッテリーがへたり困っていました。最新のＰＤＡ＋辞書を購入すると、ＤＳｌｉｔｅの数倍の金額がかかるのです。以前出た「楽引」も心引かれたのですが、収録数が少ないので断念しました。
ところが今回、この値段でジーニアス＋明鏡で２４万語、更にちょっとしたゲームなど盛りだくさんで五千円払っておつりがくる。１５年前、辞書検索が出来るという事で購入したワープロは３０万円でした。よい時代になったものです。

This is a great dictionary for foreign students because you no longer have to use a kanji dictionary to look up the reading of kanji before looking up the meaning of words. Just draw the kanji into the DS and it will tell you how to read the kanji. Very useful and good price.
Other good feature is the "Register" function. you can save any word from any dictionary, then quiz yourself using the words your registered.
Nice for studying, etc. Highly recommended for students studying Japanese and who have at least 1 or 2 years of kanji practice.
