2004年NHK大河ドラマ「新選組!」のサントラ第2弾です。
第1弾はもちろん放送当時に発表されていたので今回は
収録できなかった放送後期の曲や2006年NHK正月時代劇として
放送された「新選組!!〜土方歳三　最期の一日」の曲も収録されて
いるとのことで本当に「待望」の、そして「期せずして」発売になる
作品集だと思います。
三谷さんとは舞台「オケピ！」やドラマ「王様のレストラン」以来
名コンビとして音楽を担当している服部隆之さん。
自分の中にある程度の規則を持たせ、作品の行間を埋めるような
素晴らしい曲をたくさん作ってくださいましたし
あれだけたくさんあるのに日の目を見ないのは非常に残念だと
思っていたので素直にうれしいです。
特に第47回「流山」で流れた「やすらぎ」はイントロだけで
泣ける曲。さらに「新選組!!」オープニングを飾ったワルツは
秀逸です。
「新選組!!〜土方歳三　最期の一日」DVDとあわせての購入をオススメします。

私の場合ドラマを見る時はいつも物語や台詞に集中していて、劇中の音楽にはあまり気をとられていない筈…なんですが。でもこのCDを聴いていると、どの曲も“あのシーンだ”とすぐ思い出すことができました。

特に「侍泣き」がプレイヤーから流れてきた瞬間はグッときましたね。山南切腹の直後、縁側で土方が声を上げて泣くシーンで使われた曲です。私もつられて号泣したという印象深いシーンだったので、この曲も知らず知らず耳に残っていたようです。

まさに思い出いっぱいのこのCD。ファンなら是非とも揃えて頂きたいと思います。

新選組！は脚本や演出、演技陣の素晴らしさもさることながら、服部氏のリリシズム溢れる音楽がとても魅力的なドラマだった。未だにあのメインテーマをはじめ、さまざまなシーンに流れた曲を思い出すと熱い血が騒ぐ。或いは静かな思いに浸ることも出来る。ＣＤとしての構成も非常によく出来ており、サウンドトラックとしてのレベルも高い。
前回ＣＤに未収録の名曲群、そして、続編である「土方歳三　最後の一日」の音楽も収録している本盤は新選組！の音楽世界を完結させるファン必携のアイテムである。前回のサウンドトラックも素晴らしいので未体験の方にはそちらもお勧めしておきます。
