内容紹介

朝の宝石店ティファニーの前でデニッシュを食べる娼婦のホリーは、引っ越してきたばかりの駆け出し作家ポールと出会う。酔っぱらいから逃げて部屋へ来て、 眠り込んでしまった彼女にポールは興味を抱く。ホリーの夫ドクが彼女を連れ戻そうとするが、彼女は断ってしまう。ホリーがブラジルの外交官と結婚するのを 知って傷ついたポールは、小説を売って得たお金をつきつけるが…。

ティファニーで朝食は冒頭だけのシーンでしたね。その後はアパートでのドタバタ劇が中心の作品です。全体にマンシーニの曲が流れ、これがかなりストーリを盛り立てるのに効果的でした。『ムーン・リバー』はカラオケでも良く唄っている人が多く、日本人にはお馴染みで、映画以上に音楽の方が印象に残るのも、やはり1962年アカデミー賞ベスト・ミュージックを受賞したことから納得です。

オードリーのホリー役は確かに謎めいた魅力があって、誰もが彼女の仕事は何？って感じにさせられました。過去に触れず、今を自由に生きるホリーの姿に関心を持ったフレッドの気持ちがわかるような気がする。それだけにラスト・シーンで素直に自分の気持ちを出したホリーに内心ホッとしました。

なんとかして、ミッキー・ルーニーのMR.YUNIOSHI役に賞をあげられないかな？これって名演技ですよ！ガミガミ怒鳴る頑固オヤジ役がすばらしい。さすが名優ですね。

まさに女優としてのオードリー・ヘプバーンのすばらしさ。銀幕上の彼女の表情〜かわいらしさ、美しさ、バカさ、上品さ〜は今でもこれを超えるものはないと思います。マンシーニの音楽も先般のアカデミー賞の席上、その長年の功績が称えられました。「ムーン・リバー」に乗せて流れる画面に限りないあこがれを持ったものです。永遠の名作ですので、より鮮明なＤＲＭ、ＤＳＴ版をお願いします。

４０年前以前に見た映画で、懐かしく思い購入しました。
記憶のいい加減さに思わず「あれ、あれ」の連続で終わってしまいました。
しかしながら、オードリヘップバーンの美しさは、記憶通りでした。
