中国でデッドストックとなっていた真空管が大量に発掘されたのが、このラジオ誕生のきっかけと聞きます。ですので、学研さんが入手した真空管の数以上の生産は出来ないレア度大な一品です。僕は組立用と、保存用に２つ購入してしまいました。
ただ残念なのは、使われているのが電池駆動用の真空管なので、ヒーターが真空管らしく明々と点灯してくれないって点。音質も良いとは言えないので「真空管」に過度の期待をして購入すると・・・期待ハズレって事になるので御注意下さい。

不器用なのでほかの人よりかなり時間がかかりました。（４時間ぐらい）。でも最初の音出しは感動物です。想像していたより感度は悪くなく、受信状態が悪い僻地の当地でも、十分な音量で鳴ってくれました。また私の年代には大変なつかしい音色です。「三丁目の夕日」的なノスタルジックな音色でした。（高音質の意味ではありませんよ）。大変よくできたキットだと思います。たしかに失敗を誘発する箇所もありますが、それも勉強のうちで、壊滅的な失敗にはなりにくいですし、心得のある方でしたらさらにグレードアップへの改造も容易です。インテリアとしてもデザインが秀逸で、最近に無いお勧めの一品です。

使用している真空管は中国製で，その数に限りがあり，限定１万台だそうです。キットの組み立てはあっけないほど簡単でした。アンテナのコイルを巻くのがちょっと大変だったぐらい。肝心の基板は完成しているので半田付け不要。らくらくです。（電気工作を期待する向きにはあっさりしすぎかも）
調整も苦労せずに，すぐ受信できました。電池で動作する真空管なので持ち運び自由。野外でも楽しめます。感度がいまいちなのは仕方のないところでしょう。（ＮＨＫ第１・２と地元のラジオ局はよく入る）ホーンから流れ出る音は昔懐かしいレトロな音で，グッドです。
