私は昔、これの超合金を買ってもらえませんでした。
ともだちのゴールドライタンを遠慮がちにさわらせてもらっていました。
そして、私は大人になり、自費で購入。
箱をあけて、黒い箱をさらに取り出して開けてみると・・・
そこにはワインレッドのビロードにやさしく包まれた憧れのライタンが！
もう鼻血ブーでした。
18金の美しいボディー、心地よい重量感。
もう、なにもいらない。これさえあればいい。とても手袋でもしないと触れない。
そんな玩具です。

20年以上も経ってこのような復刻版が出るということは、アニメ放映当時の大胆なコンセプトの勝利と言えるでしょう。
特に足のギミックが秀逸で、ロボットのモデル体型（！）を実現するのに貢献しています。
18金メッキは質感十分で、当時の子供が大人になって楽しむに値するキットだと思います。

番組放映当時の超合金もかなりのできばえでしたが、それ以上です。
ロボット形態時の股間から脚背面にかけては変形のしわ寄せで見栄えが悪いのですが、
それ以外は腕がやや短く感じる程度で、劇中のイメージをよく再現できていると思います。
可動範囲は脚がやや狭く、腕はまずまず。平面部のメッキには指紋が残りやすいです。
手足の収納がかなりタイトなので、変形させるたびに傷がついてしまう点だけは
あらかじめ覚悟して購入する必要があります。
ライター形態で持ったときの手触りや重量感はとても心地いいですよ。
