ツルゲーネフのはつ恋を映画化した作品です。
あらすじは原作にほぼ忠実です。
むかし、映画館で見た記憶だけで書いてます。すみません。

仁科明子の美しさには感動します。
この人が、鞭で打たれ・・・・・・・・

あわわ、ここで言うまい。


さて、音楽ですが、うろ覚えなのですが、
ビゼーの交響曲の２楽章を使っていたように覚えています。
コーラングレ（イングリッシュホルン）の美しい音楽です。
間違ってたらごめんなさい。

　I.ツルゲーネフの小説「初恋」を、昭和50年の日本に置き換えた作品。若き日の仁科亜希子が、儚い生涯を終えるヒロイン「るお」を演じている。17歳の主人公・一彦には当時大人気だったというアイドル、井上純一が抜擢された（演技のほどはともかく、初々しさでいっぱい）。
　フランス映画を意識した映像と音楽で、クリスチャン・ルグランによるバロックのスキャット音楽が効果的。しかし、白い船、白いパラソル、白いドレス、そして白い海･･･。否が応でも、この物語の最後にあるのは死と別れであると分かる。しかも、「るお」と、一彦の父・直彦との禁じられた関係に結びつく鍵が、ペットの犬であったり、昆虫たちの動きであったりと、台詞や音楽をなるべく押さえた作りにも幸せな結末は訪れないと分かる。

　「るお」は自由奔放だが、何をどうやって毎日暮らしているのかは描かれていない。また、女友達はひとりも出ない。学生時代の様子も伺えない。それが余計に、「るお」が直彦にすべてを賭けたことを匂わせる。ゆえに、一彦の心の傷みも大きい。
　「あの夏の記憶を消し去ることー」　愛すべき存在を一気に失い、大人へ変わるろうとしている一彦の姿に、「Yesterday When I was young」のメロディーが重なるとき、こちらも心が傷くなる。

　「るお」のすべてとなった直彦には、45歳ながらも既にロマンスグレー、ナイスミドルとなっていた二谷英明。日活のアクション時代や特捜最前線しか知らない方には、貴重な作品かもしれない。
