1982年5月に発売されたChicagoの16枚目のアルバム。
全米No.1となったシングル"HARD TO SAY I'M SORRY"（邦題：素直になれなくて）は、80年代を代表する名曲だと思います。

この曲を歌っているボーカル＆ベーシストのピーター・セテラが1985年にChicagoを脱退、しかし、Chicagoの凄いところは、メンバーを入れ替えながらバンドを継続し、2006年までに30枚のアルバムを発表しています。

このアルバム自体はビルボード最高位9位でしたが、私にとってはChicagoで一番好きなアルバムです。

このアルバムから１７に繋がり、ピーターは脱退していった。
その後の彼の衰退はいうまでもないところである。
１６、１７とファンには受けたが軟弱な曲が多く、ロックとは
ほど遠い作品である。　
そういう意味では、シカゴの運命を変える一枚だったと言える。
一グループとして聞けば、素晴らしい作品である。

８２年発表の１６作目。実質的なリーダー格だったテリー・キャスの死亡後、シカゴは没落と言っても良いほどの低迷を続けていたが、プロデューサーにデヴィッド・フォスターを迎えた本アルバムからの５．の大ヒットで見事に復帰した。その５．はデヴィッド・フォスターとピーター・セテラとの共作であり、プロデュースのみならず演奏、曲作りとほとんどシカゴのメンバーと言って良いほどの大活躍をしている。またフォースター人脈としてＴＯＴＯ周辺のメンバーが参加しているのもヒットの要員だろう。このアルバムのおかけで、音楽専門誌などでは、ちょっとしたフォスター・ブームになっていたことを思い出す。
　はっきり言って従来のシカゴとは別物であり、ブラス・ロックの雄としての彼らの姿はここにはない。ブラスと同レベルで８０年代のシンセサイザーが重用されているなど無骨なロックを求めると完全に肩透かしを食らうし、シンセ並みの扱いを受けているブラスは完全に添え物になっているためシカゴのファンにとっておそらくこのアルバムは「ゴミ」だろう。しかしながらポップスという枠にシカゴというブランドを変型させてここまでの作品に仕上げたフォスターの力量は現代でも評価できるし、８０年代の一つの指標的な作品だとも思う。
　ついでになってしまったが、ビル・チャップリンが本作より正式参加したこともグループのパワー・アップに貢献していることは言うまでもない。
