ナイアガラ作品は20歳の頃から聴き始め、LPからCDになっても同じアル
バムの数々を購入し続けました。大滝氏のライナーノーツを読むだけで
も面白かったからです(毎回新しい内容になっています)。

本作は初回発表時から不思議な雰囲気を持った佳曲が並んでいて異色で
したが、この30th Anniversary Edition はリマスタリングが優れてい
て深みと広がりのある音が安心して楽しめます。

しかし…「遅すぎた別れ」、「ココナツ・ホリデイ」、「新無頼横町」
「ナイアガラ音頭」なんて実験的な曲を収録するのを許可したレコード
会社(当時はコロンビア)があって良い時代だったのだろうとつくづく感
じさせられます。「パレード」、「幸せにさよなら」など魅力的な歌曲
があるから故かもしれませんが、古き良き時代の香りを感じさせます。

また、音頭をファンキーにアレンジした「ナイアガラ音頭」は素の大滝
氏のタレントを感じさせる印象的作品として記憶に残ります。

今のJ-Popへの過渡期を感じさせる歴史的作品だと思います。

30年前に書かれた歌とは思えないほどいまだ新しい。
山下達郎、パレードは有名ですが、最初のピアノ演奏から聞くと迫力があり、非常に素晴らしい。フライングキッドの斬新な曲調。
伊藤銀次、はっぴいえんどの雰囲気をそのまま出しています。（伊藤銀次はメンバーではありませんでしたが）古きよき時代を思い出させます。
ボーナストラックは、ナイアガラ音頭が２つもあって、全体で３回ナイアガラ音頭を聞くことになり、リズムが頭から離れなくなります。
ナイアガラファンには、お勧めだと思います。

山下さんは当時から、本当に完成されてましたね。

伊藤さんは、コード進行に歌謡崩れがないところが大滝さんに好かれたんでしょうね。

大滝さんは「ナイアガラ音頭がオリジナリティの限界だった」という発言を聞いて苦しくなりました。その後の数々の名曲があるのに。くやしいですが大滝さんの心中をさっするだけの力がありません。

福生の音が、しますね。
