何で今までというより、ようやくというべきか、『徳川家康』の
大河ドラマ登場となりました。原作は勿論、大作山岡荘八全26巻です。
そこで気になるキャスティングですが、滝田栄氏の主人公家康。
大賛成でした。巷間云われる‘狸親爺・家康’というイメージですが、
若い頃の家康は颯爽とした、むしろ面長な肖像さえ残っている位です。
嫡子信康を失った時や、神君伊賀越えの時などの演技は滝田氏以外
考えられません。大賀弥四郎や築山殿の悲劇など、このドラマで
初めて知った方も多かったのでは．．．と思います。

　信長・秀吉を助け堪忍や忍従の連続といった家康を支えた家臣達
「本多作左・石川数正」の演技も光っていました。
舞台回しの竹之内波太郎＝石坂浩二もミステリアスでよかった。
信長や秀吉に比べれば、地味な印象の家康ですが、人に恵まれ
人を育て、人に教えられた７５年の生涯でした。

　葵・徳川三代位、調度や小道具に凝ってほしかったのが、
少し残念でしたが、富田　勲の重厚な音楽も番組に見事に華を添え
最後の最後まで見ごたえ十分の、昭和５９年作品でした。

　山岡荘八の長編小説をドラマ化。原作にほぼ忠実に描かれている点がよい。
　第壱集は，家康の誕生から小牧・長久手の戦いまで。長い人質生活から正室・瀬名との不和，三方ヶ原での大敗，家臣の裏切り，長子信康の切腹と次々に降りかかる難題を切り抜けていく若き日の家康を滝田栄がよく演じている。
　役所広司の覇気満々たる信長も印象的である。

山岡宗八原作の『徳川家康』といえば、誰しもが認める大作である。

それを、武士の生まれ変わりと見紛うほどの居合の達人にして、
若く裂帛の気合いを放つ滝田栄が演じた『徳川家康』は、
戦国時代の修羅場を潜り抜けてきたにもかかわらず、
狡猾な古狸と広く日本人認知されている家康の若き
苦闘の日々を描いた名作として、まだ大河に一日の長と
活気があった頃の一編として、今なお人気が高い名作である。

それがこの度DVD化され、またあの黄金時代の大河に触れる機会を得た。
視聴率という数字など気にする必要すらなかった頃のあの活気に満ちた
名編を、
いま一度、存分に楽しもうではないか…
