力強い楽曲が揃っています。

「Melon Water」はスペードに近い楽曲でカッコイイギターサウンドで
いきなりリスナーを惹きつけます

「シェルター」もイントロからしびれるギターと玉置さんのヴォーカル
が絡み楽曲に勢いを感じます。

「延長戦」は晴渡った日にドライブしながら聞きたくなるサウンドで
玉置さんのヴォーカルが心地よく聞こえてきます。

シングル「いつもどこかで」「Lion」も良いアクセントで収録されておりまた
こうやって改めてアルバムで聞くと違って聞こえます。

「夜想」もLionのカップリングですがシングルでもおかしくない
名バラードです。　玉置さんの想いを松井五郎さんがうまく
詞に表現し、それを情感たっぷりに歌い上げるのは圧巻です。

そして「プレゼント」はやっぱり名曲ですね。
新しい玉置さんの代表曲になりましたね。

ラストの「やせっぽちの星」は聞いていると
心が優しくなれるそんな曲です。玉置さんの想いが痛いほど
伝わってきます。

聞けば聞くほどこのアルバムは自分の中に浸透してきそうです。

玉置さんの説得力あふれるヴォーカルは今作も全編にわたって相変わらずさえてます。しかし、わたしはなんといっても「プレゼント」にほんとうに心を撃ち抜かれました。やさしく、静かに撃ちぬかれました。ｳﾞｨﾃﾞｵｸﾘｯﾌﾟの映像を観ながら聴くと、さらに撃ち抜かれてしまいました。正直なところ、これほどまでに暗く、圧倒的に閉塞感に支配されたいまの世相にあって、「この世界には愛があふれてる　幸せを願う　その声に　こたえて」という言葉を敢えて選んだ、しかも、「愛があふれたらいいな」じゃなく、「愛があふれてる」と言い切った玉置さんの勇気に、そしてこの言葉に、わたしは本当に心をうたれました。実際の世の中は、本当はイヤになるくらい弱肉強食で真逆の世界であることはだれもがわかっていて、当然玉置さんもそんなことはじゅうも承知のうえで、あえてこの言葉を選んだのは、「僕らミュージシャンがこういうこと言わないで、いったいダレがこういうこと言うの？ほっときゃどんどん暗くなるばっかだろ。俺はたとえ笑われても、たとえたった一人になっても、こういうこと言っていく。そのために歌うんだ。そのために音楽やってんだ！」という思いがこめられているように感じずにおれません。そして、市井に暮らす多くのひとたちが、心の深いところでは、やっぱり穏やかで温もりのある社会になって欲しい、人間らしい温もりのなかで、幸せに暮らしていきたい、という思いをもっていることを、深く洞察したうえで、玉置さんはこの言葉を選びはったのではないかと思うのです。ほんとうに、この曲を聴くと静かに胸が熱くなります。

田園のヒットから暫く経ち、世間から忘れさられてしまうのかと思いましたが、ドラマ主演とアルバム発売により、若いファンの獲得にも成功
この積極果敢な姿勢は、現状に満足し切って「ぬるま湯」につかっているベテランには是非見習って欲しいものです
プレゼント　いつもどこかで　は珠玉のバラードであり、この２曲だけでも聴く価値は大いにアリでしょう
