Children Of Bodomに色濃く影響を受けたと思われるフィンランド出身若手メロデス・バンド４人組。リードギター兼任のVoといい、キラキラとしたシンセとザクザクしたスラッシュ・リフがグイグイと楽曲を引っ張るスタイルといいいかにもである。本家より更に臭い？ツインギターのハーモニーと濁声にくわえサビではクリーンボイスも多用したスタイルが彼らの特徴か。個性という意味ではまだまだだが、将来に期待できるホープの登場だ！

フィンランドのメロデスバンド、ネイルダウンの1st。2006作
きらきらとシンセワークで聴かせる、モダンなメロデスサウンドは
一聴して、CHILDREN OF BODOM + SOILWORKという雰囲気。
ノーマルヴォイスもまじえて流麗なギターとシンセが絡むスタイルは、暴虐さよりも
若者らしい勢いが前に出ていて、メロディの聴かせどころもなかなかセンスが良い。
メロデスというよりもスラッシーなナンバーもあったり、いかにもニュースクール的な
ボーダーのなさを感じさせつつ、ギターフレーズにはちゃんとツボを突く部分が多い。
この手の若手バンドにしては完成度の高いアルバムだろう。

今期とても実りのいいメロデスの中ではなかなかいい成績である、フィンランドからやってきたネイルダウン。発声法やキラキラキーボード、曲の作り方まで自国の先輩チルボドにそっくりの彼ら。ただ先輩よりちょっとだけブルータル度が高く、テンポがミドル主体で、サビなどにクリーンヴォイスを採用しているため、「Hate Crew Deathroll」あたりを期待して聴くと微妙に聞こえるかも。ただスカンジナヴィア系メロデスっぽいメランコリックさはしっかり持ち合わせているので、チルボド好きだけでなくアークエネミーとかインフレイムス好きな人も聴いてみてほしい。きっと気にいるから。星1つ減点の 理由はクリーンヴォイスが弱すぎて聞こえない点。改善して頑張れネイルダウン!
