　小西康陽氏が「自分がクラブなどでＤＪをやるときに
かけたいもの」を想定してつくったアルバム。そのためか
サウンドはテクノ寄りだったり踊れる感じのものが多く、
単におしゃれなだけじゃないピチカート(小西氏)の一面を
見せてくれる。それまでのものに比べて歌ものが少ないのも特徴。

　ピチカート入門編としても悪くないと思うし、いしだあゆみに
インスパイアされて出来たというバリバリ昭和歌謡の８曲目や、
ピチカート節炸裂の12曲目なんかは耳に残るオススメの曲。

　が。全編どこか悲しさや虚しさのようなものが漂っている
気がする。１曲目の希望に満ちた歌詞が、絶対にそんな日は
来ないことを前提に諦めと開き直りで歌っているように聞こ
えてしまう。タイトルからして、本来不幸なことであるはずの
世界の終わりすらも幸せなものにしてしまおうという
(ある種やけくそな)意志の表れなんじゃないかと思わされる。
世界の終わりという事態に際して、緊迫間のあまり踊り出し
ちゃうような。これは現代の「えぇじゃないか」だ。

　のんきじゃないハッピーなアルバム。

世の中的に一番クラブがもてはやされ、消費されつくされる寸前の『クラブバブル』的な時期に発表されたものです。
強烈なコンセプトは見えない代わりに、妙なストーリー性のようなものははっきりと感じます。
ちょうどこの頃から昭和歌謡的なアプローチも頻繁に行われるようになりましたが、しかしながら先駆的かというとそういうわけではなく、小島麻由美嬢などはデビュー時からそういったアプローチをしていたわけでして。
ただ、昭和的なものが世の中的にブームになるきっかけを作ったのはこの頃のピチカートかもしれません。
初回のパッケージは発売当時久々にgood!!と思ったビニールパッケージでした。

もし、あなたがpizzicato fiveを聴いたことがないのなら、このアルバムから始めるべきです! よりpizzicatoらしく、さらにpizzicatoを楽しく、収録してあります。
こんな面白いことしてるんですよ、pizzicato fiveは！カバーもビニールでコーティングされていて(いまいちうまく伝わりませんね)、なんか他とは違う、ってことがわかると思います。

それをあなたに知ってもらいたい。そして、お風呂に入りながら口ずさんでもらいたい！

もちろん、pizzicato five好きのあなたにも、これはおいしい一枚です。今までのすばらしいpizzicato fiveプレゼンツのサーカスのいいとこどりって言いましょうか、そんな感じです!
