音源が古いために「蘇州の夜」などの音質があまりよくありませんが、そんなことはたいした問題ではないのです。半世紀以上も前の歌声であることを考えると不満など言っておれません。むしろ今のこの時代に大変良い代物を手に入れたという感動感謝の気持ちがまさります。
とにかく全部が良い曲です。「赤い睡蓮」「夜霧の馬車」「蘇州夜曲」「夜来香」は言わずもがな李香蘭の歌う「宵待草」や「荒城の月」といった抒情歌も極めて良いです。歌とはこういうものなのだという感動が湧きおこってくるのです。映画のテーマ曲である「七人の侍」もすこぶる良いです。
追伸。曲目リストに疑問があります。たしかに全部で22曲ですが、現物を見ると「とこしえに」という曲は入っておらず「春鶯曲」という曲が代わりに入っているようです。

◆懐メロアルバムにありがちな、懐古趣味やチープ感が殆どなく(←他の歌手のCD紹介さえなければ完璧だった!)、帯の体裁や盤面デザインも含めて、格調高いCDである。
ブックレットは、各曲の歌詞に短い解説が付されたものだが、手抜き感は全くない。逆に作り手の熱意が滲み出ている。

◆厳選された22曲のうち、『紅い睡蓮』『迎春歌』の2曲は、1989年に出ているCDでは、一部歌詞が省略されていましたが、このCDでは省略なしの完全版がおさめられています!!

◆李香蘭=山口淑子の気品溢れる歌唱は、録音から半世紀を経てもなお、心打つものがある。

私は2007年の今になって、この人の歌を初めて聴いたのだが、このCDに惚れて、入手可能な彼女の他のCDを一気に集めてしまった。汗。

さらに、この人の波乱の半生を知ってビックリ。笑。
はい。このCDに惚れたのは、彼女の半生を知る前です。
このCDには、中国人?李香蘭がなぜ日本人?山口淑子なのか…ということの説明もありませんから。

もし先に、戦中戦後の話を知ってしまっていたら、私は色眼鏡で見て(聴いて)しまっていたことでしょう。
というか、聴いてすらないかもしれない。大汗。
その意味では、彼女のまとまった曲集としてこのCDを最初に買ったのは、運が良かったと思わざるをえないですねー。

いやあ。2007年後半のマイブームNo.1は彼女の歌声です♪

◆ジリパチノイズはありますが、同時代のクラシックの…オケやピアノ録音とは比較にならないほど、良い音質です★
(まあ、オケやピアノは当時の機材では録音が難しいから…)
