Morbid Angel初となるオフィシャル・ライブＤＶＤとＣＤが一枚になったデュアル・ディスク盤がこの度再発されました。

ＣＤサイドには既にリミックス・ヴァージョンを追加収録して再発されたものと同じ音源が収録されているので、再発盤を既に購入している方には余り必要ではないかと思われます。

そして、なんといっても注目なのがＤＶＤサイド、このＤＶＤには８９年の11月に行われたNottingam Rock City　Showでのライブ映像が収録されています。

このライブはNapalm Deathをメインに行われたライブで、スペシャル・ゲストとして、Morbid Angel,Bolt Thrower,Carcassが出演した模様です。

収録曲はAltars of Madness全曲演奏（曲順はＣＤと異なります。）に、トレイ・アザトースによる短めのギター・ソロを間に挟んだ全１１曲が収録されています。

肝心のライブ映像ですが、画質は問題なく、カメラ撮りもプロ・ショットで撮影されているのですが、肝心のギター・ソロやピート・サンドヴァルのブラスト・シーン等が余り映っていなかったのが少し残念である。

正直、音質は良くないです。ステレオ音声ではなくモノラル音声で収録されている為、リチャードのギターの音がかなり聴き辛くなっています。（このＤＶＤは恐らく、ブートもので出回っていたものを、EARACHEが正規盤としてリリースしたものだと思われます。）

ただ、デイヴィット・ヴィンセントのVo＆Baとピート・サンドヴァルのドラム、トレイ・アザトースのギターの音は良く聴き取れるので、個人的にはとても満足できる内容でした。

因みに、当時無料で配布されたといわれるチケットのレプリカが特典として挿入されていました。

このアルバムはUK盤ですが、ＤＶＤサイドはNTSCのリージョン・フリーですので、国内向けのプレーヤーでも見る事ができます。

　Remix曲が3曲追加された新装版。音質がムチャクチャ良い。これはモービッド・エンジェルがデビューに当時にしていかに凄まじい演奏力だったかを証明するものだ。

　不思議なことにアルバム一枚通して聴いても何の苦痛も無い。むしろ心地よいのだ。これぞ、真のデスメタルだ。

1989年発表の1st。
彼らの認めるところの1stですが、まずピートはツーバス始めたばかりとは思えないドラミングをしてるからびっくりだ！でもまぁ、今から見ればまだちょっと未完成だったかも。さらに、二人のギタリストのソロの凄まじいこと！いかれたソロのはマジでしびれる。今とは違ったデススラッシュ路線の彼らが楽しめる。
