CD自体はすばらしいのですが、歌詞カード1・2・3・7・10・12・14曲目がない。
インタールードはともかく11のリード曲のエイコンのRAP部分もないし、なかなかひどい手抜き具合。
そういうのは買わないと分からないし、余計ひどい。
レコード会社のやる気のなさといいうかやっつけ仕事でアーティストが可愛そうで、残念です。

　本当に実力のあるシンガーですね。横ノリは専門外ですが、
この人は好きです。スティービー・ワンダーなんかと競演し
たりしてますよね。

　本作は通算3枚目のオリジナルなのだそうですが、三年振
りのリリースだそうです。曲作りに時間を掛けたのでしょう
かね?

　R&Bという位置づけですが、僕のイメージでは、そのR&Bと
いう範疇よりずれているような気がします。少しエキゾチッ
ク過ぎたり、エスニックな感じというのでしょうか?

　彼女の表現したいものや、彼女のルーツを良く知らないか
らなんともいえませんがね。さくっと調べると楽器もいろい
ろこなせるようですし、器用な人なんですね。楽器というよ
り本当は彼女の歌声が魅力的なのですがね。

　聴いていると、いろんな風景が瞼に浮かびますよ。3曲目の
サマーって曲は本当にノリも軽妙で南部の農村でも表現して
いるような気がします。

　6曲目はイントロの静けさに何事かを予感しました。とにか
く彼女の声が溢れて零れ落ちる感じのドラマティックなこの
曲に震えてください。

　7曲目のオールディーズな雰囲気のストリングス、8曲目の
明るくさわやかな響き、はスティーヴィー・ワンダーへのオ
マージュだろう。

　15曲目ホーンが目立つ曲、16曲目でフィニッシュだが、こ
の優しい気着心地は抜群だ。
　
　アリーの声も素晴らしく、他の演奏なんかも上出来なのだ
が、総合的に街角に溢れる音楽のような気がする。そう、自
然な音楽が詰め込まれている。数曲ごとに配置される、セッ
ション風の短い曲が一層そういう錯覚を聴き手に一笑させて
いるのではないかと思う。

　そういう意味では、実に計算されているのかもしれないし、
この自然さが、本来のアリーの魅力なのだろうか。

　とても自然で、じっくり聴いても楽しめるし、BGMとして
読書しながらも楽しめる。そんな作品だった。素晴らしい。

彼女の声やオーガニックスタイルが好きで聴いていたのですが、ただの流行のオーガニック
スタイルではなく、歌詞はメッセージ性が強く、人に勇気や希望、そして人生は甘くないけれど
受け止めてみせるというメッセージを与えている。彼女のオーガニックスタイルは精神によって統一されたもの
であり、流行であるとか、声を美しく見せるためという邪道ではなく、人間本来の生き方、
精神に裏打ちされた、純朴で、シンプルで、自然の音こそが人間本来の音であると信じてる
感じがする。ありのまま。そして、夜空に、太陽にそして、人生に感謝と希望を求めて音楽
を作り続けてるからこそ、スピディー・ワンダーにも認められてると思う。元々アリシアの
熱狂的なファンであるけれど、グラミーは彼女にもって行かれたとしても、賞が取れなくても
彼女は自分の道を信じて自分の才能を信じて素晴らしい楽曲を提供している秀でたアーティスト
だと思う。
