90年代初頭の学生時代にフリッパーズを聴いて育った世代にはズバリのサウンド。心地よいリズムに頼りなげなボーカル。でも芯はしっかりある。
日本人による日本人にしかできないポップミュージックが２１世紀にも継承されていることが嬉しい。

ゆらゆらとゆれるような、ねむたいような、大谷君の声に、楽器にあまり詳しくないわたしが楽器の音にふと耳を奪われる...柏原さんのベースとドラマー坂田さんによるポラリス。

ぜんぶ、ほんとうに、センスが良いのです。

ジャケットがステキ。
ジャケットにぐぐいと惹かれてジャケ買いしたのがポラリスとの出逢いです。ポラリスのジャケットはどれをみてもかわいくて、すこしさみしさがあるような、あったかいデザインなんです。

つむぐ音がステキ。
メロウなのに、たてのりしたくなる。
大谷君の声、男のひとの裏声がどうしてもなじまないわたしなのにじんと聴き入ってしまうやさしい声。そして　わたしがこんなに楽器に聴き入ったのははじめてです。ギターが、何ていうんでしょうかあれは...こう、キュキュッ!!と軋むような音をたてるのがこらえきれなくいい。低音ベースが、引き立つようで引き立たせるかんじがきれい。フィッシュマンズです。ドラムが、やぁー･･･だいすきです。こんなにからっとした、あかるい渇いたドラムを奏でるひとはみたことがないかもしれない････。コマ送りに聴こえるふしぎなドラム。ウキウキします、ドラム聴くだけでもう。

歌詞がステキ。
かわいらしくて、すこしふしぎで、なんだかにっこりしたくなります。
メレンゲのクボさんのことばのチョイスとすこし似ているきがします。

わたしはすごく編曲家なのですが、捨て曲が物の見事にありません。ネイロに限らず、ポラリスのアルバムでは捨て曲がないです...!!

フィッシュマンズやハナレグミや原田郁子さんがお好きな方は必ず気に入るはずです。

長々とわかりにくいじぶん勝手な説明で申し訳がないです･･･
でもとにかく聴いてみてほしいです!!!!!!

　渋谷HMVをフラッと立ち寄った時に、偶然かかっていたのがコレ。
　特に何を、ということはかったのだが、これを耳にした瞬間にディスプレイはどこだと探した。かかっていたのはちょうど「瞬間」。
　即買です。帰って開封するとDVDまで付いていた（衝動的に買ったので気にしていなかった）。ちょうどその時持っていたのは携帯DVDだったので先に映像を見る。なんだかプロモーション・ビデオというものが誕生して２〜３年経った頃のような映像（こういうの、80年代後半にあったなぁ）。
　10年近くジャズや復刻ものばかり聴いていたので、久し振りにガツンとやられました。守りに入ってた、反省。ずっと昔、同じような状態の時にオリジナル・ラブの『結晶』を聴いた時のような効き目があった。ギターにやられた。これは自信を持って奨めます。
