Vol.1感染拡大、Vol.2悪性変異、Vol.3侵食汚染、Vol.4絶対包囲。
ネットを舞台にした斬新なシナリオは、秀逸の一言に尽きます。

BEST版では、Vol.1とVol.2、Vol.3とVol.4がそれぞれ2枚組になって2800円なので、今まで敬遠していた人も取っ付きやすい作品になったようにみえます。

…が！留意すべきは、通常版には同梱されていた「OVA」が、BEST版には付いてこないことです。
OVAの内容でゲームに直接リンクしている所は少ない。レアアイテム入手に関するワードが隠されていたりもしますが、攻略本に全部載っています。OVAを観なくても多少違和感を覚えるくらいでしょう。

しかし、アニメ（.hack//SIGN）とOVAを観ると、このゲームをより一層楽しむことができます。アニメはレンタルで観られます。OVAの内容は通常版かDVD-BOX（.hack//Integration、）で観られ、レンタルは恐らくされていないと思われます。

よってBEST版は、過去に通常版を売り、再びやりたくなった人や、細かいことは気にしないという人にオススメします。100％楽しみたい！という初プレイの人は、お金が余計にかかりますが、アニメを観て、通常版を購入し、OVAを観つつプレイした方がいいと思います。

どうこう言ってる方が数名いますが通常版が発売されたのは2002年なわけで当時としてはまぁまぁ綺麗な方だったのでは?それにFFと比べるのもどうかと・・・ゲームとしてはなかなかですね。今やっても十分楽しめます。値段が値段ですし・・・
しかしG.U→無印の順でプレイしようとしている方は色々な面でストレスが溜まるかと;無印発売から何年も経ってますしね^ ^;

　やはりバンダイ（ゲーム製作が本業ではない）ですね。結構評価が良かったので買ってみましたが、面白いとは言えませんでした。

　イベントをやって、あそこのダンジョンに行けと言われ、そこに行くと、今度はこっちのダンジョンに行けと延々繰り返すだけ。所謂、おつかいばかり。敵も強い気がしました（しかも逃げられない）。

　バトルシステムはかっこ悪い敵、かっこ悪い技（ほとんど使いまわし）、プレステ級のグラフィック、そんなところです。
　ダンジョンにバリエーションがあると言っても、地図や宝箱の配置、敵の強さ、ダンジョングラフィックが少し変わるだけで、魅力が無い……と言うより、イベントでもなければ、はっきり言って行きたくない。

　シナリオは、やたらと難しく、抽象的な事ばかり言う敵や碑文が出てきます。バトルやフィールド、キャラクターの思考回路が拙いにも関わらず吐き出されるこの難解な台詞たちには、偏に、ミスマッチとしか言いようのない感情しか沸き起こってきません。
　唯一良かったのはボイスがあることでしょうか。これがなければ最後までプレイする気が保てたかどうか……。

　これにはアニメとか漫画でストーリーの補完みたいなのがあるらしいですが、おそらくそれを読まないと全く面白くないと思います。
　あと、４つに分ける意味があったんでしょうか。ＤＶＤの容量ならこのくらいの長さの話（ポリゴンも荒いので容量は少ないでしょう）は十分入ると思うのですが……。ゲームに罪は無いにしても、製作者側のあからさまな商業戦略に、やや辟易……。
